Ramadhania Ardiansyah Bakrie, born Prianti Nur Ramadhani and known professionally as Nia Ramadhani (born 16 April 1990) [1] is an Indonesian actress.

Career

Ramadhani entered the entertainment industry as a dancer in 1995. [2] She started acting in 2004, when she had a lead role in Bawang Merah Bawang Putih alongside Dimaz Andrean  [ id ] and Revalina S. Temat. [3] [4] By 2007 she had appeared in more than 10 soap operas and also in films.[ citation needed ] In 2007 she appeared in the horror film Suster Ngesot  [ id ], directed by Arie Aziz  [ id ]. [5] In 2008, she appeared in the horror film Hantu Jembatan Ancol  [ id ]. [6] The same year, she starred in Kesurupan  [ id ]. [7]

She took a break from acting shortly after her marriage in 2010, but after the birth of her first child in 2012, had a lead role in the 2013 TV drama series Putri Nomer Satu  [ id ], [2] returning again in 2018. [4]

Personal life

On 1 April 2010, she married Anindra Ardiansyah Bakrie  [ id ], the son of Indonesian politician and entrepreneur Aburizal Bakrie. [8] They have three children. [4]

She and her husband were arrested in July 2021 along with their driver and all three were charged with violating narcotics laws. Ramadhani admitted having started using methamphetamine while working as an actress, and having used it repeatedly since her father's death in 2014. [1] In January 2022, all three were sentenced to a year in prison; prosecutors had requested mandatory drug treatment. [9]

This is a modernized adaptation of "Garlic and Onion", an ancient Indo-Malayan fairy tale that corresponds with the story of Cinderella. The soap opera stars: Revalina S. Temat, Dimaz Andrean, Nia Ramadhani, Lydia Kandou, Dwi Yan, Helsi Herlinda, Nena Rosier, Nana Khairina, Ully Artha, Ade Irawan, Elsye Virgita, and Marsha Aruan. The soap opera aired on RCTI between 2004 and 2006. It won a Panasonic Awards as Favorite Drama Series Program in 2005. All 108 episodes of the soap opera were also popular in Malaysia when TV3 aired it from 2006 to early 2007 and reruns on local channel TVRI Jawa Barat in West Java.
