The Nicholls Colonels baseball team is a varsity intercollegiate athletic team of Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana. [2] The team is a member of the Southland Conference, which is part of the National Collegiate Athletic Association's Division I. [3] [4] Nicholls State's first baseball team was fielded in 1960. [5] [6] The team plays its home games at 2,100-seat Ben Meyer Diamond at Ray E. Didier Field [2] [7] and is coached by Brent Haring. [8]

Ben Meyer Diamond at Ray E. Didier Field is a baseball stadium in Thibodaux, Louisiana. [2] It is the 2,100-seat home stadium of the Nicholls Colonels college baseball team. [2] The stadium which opened in 1960 is named for Raymond "Ray" Didier, a former Nicholls head baseball coach and athletic director. The diamond is named for Ben Meyer.

Manning Field at John L. Guidry Stadium is a 10,500-seat multi-purpose stadium in Thibodaux, Louisiana. It is home to the Nicholls Colonels football team of the Southland Conference in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS). The stadium is named in honor of former state representative John L. Guidry who was instrumental in the establishment of Francis T. Nicholls Junior College. The playing surface is named Manning Field after the Manning family because the family holds the annual Manning Passing Academy football camp at the facility. The current playing surface is GeoGreen Replicated Grass. The stadium was officially dedicated on September 16, 1972.

The 2017–18 Nicholls State Colonels men's basketball team represented Nicholls State University during the 2017–18 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Colonels, led by second-year head coach Richie Riley, played their home games at Stopher Gym in Thibodaux, Louisiana as members of the Southland Conference. They finished the season 21–11, 15–3 in Southland play to earn a share of the regular season championship. As the No. 2 seed in the Southland tournament, they lost in the semifinals to Stephen F. Austin.

The 2019 Nicholls State Colonels football team represented Nicholls State University as a member of the Southland Conference during the 2019 NCAA Division I FCS football season. Led by fifth-year head coach Tim Rebowe, the Colonels compiled an overall record of 9–5 with a mark of 7–2 in conference play, sharing the Southland title with Central Arkansas. Nicholls State received the Southland's automatic bid to the NCAA Division I Football Championship, beating North Dakota in the first round before losing to the eventual national champion, North Dakota State, in the second round. The team played home games at John L. Guidry Stadium in Thibodaux, Louisiana.

On June 2, 2021, following the conclusion of the 2021 season, Seth Thibodeaux resigned from his head coaching duties after amassing an overall record of 287–290 in his eleven seasons.

The 2024 Nicholls Colonels baseball team represented Nicholls State University during the 2024 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Colonels played their home games at Ben Meyer Diamond at Ray E. Didier Field and were led by third–year head coach Mike Silva. They are members of the Southland Conference. The Colonels compiled a 38–22 overall record and a 16–8 record in conference play for a second-place finish. Qualifying for the SLC tournament as the 2nd seeded team, the Colonels defeated 7th seed Texas A&M–Corpus Christi 14–27; 6th seeded Southeastern Louisiana 5–410 and 4–3; and McNeese 15–17 to win the tournament championship and earn the conference auto–bid to the 2024 NCAA Division I baseball tournament. As the 3rd seeded team in the Corvallis Regional, the Colonels fell to 2nd seeded UC Irvine 12–13 and Tulane 0–3.
