The Southeastern Louisiana Lions baseball team is a varsity intercollegiate athletic team of Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, Louisiana, United States. [4] The team is a member of the Southland Conference, which is part of the National Collegiate Athletic Association's Division I. Southeastern Louisiana's first baseball team was fielded in 1947. The team plays its home games at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field in Hammond, Louisiana. Starting in 2024, the Lions will be led by head coach Bobby Barbier.

The Southland Conference, abbreviated as SLC, is a collegiate athletic conference which operates in the South Central United States. It participates in the NCAA's Division I for all sports; for football, it participates in the Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS). The Southland sponsors 18 sports, 10 for women and eight for men, and is governed by a presidential Board of Directors and an Advisory Council of athletic and academic administrators. Chris Grant became the Southland's seventh commissioner on April 5, 2022. From 1996 to 2002, for football only, the Southland Conference was known as the Southland Football League.
Southeastern Louisiana University (Southeastern) is a public university in Hammond, Louisiana. It was founded in 1925 by Linus A. Sims as Hammond Junior College. Sims succeeded in getting the campus moved to north Hammond in 1928, when it became known as Southeastern Louisiana College. It achieved university status in 1970.
The Lamar Cardinals and Lady Cardinals refers to the college athletics teams of Lamar University, in Beaumont, Texas. The Cardinals and Lady Cardinals teams compete in seventeen NCAA Division I sports as a member of the Southland Conference. The Cardinals rejoined the Southland after spending the 2021–22 athletic year in the Western Athletic Conference (WAC).
The Southland Conference baseball tournament is the conference championship tournament in baseball for the Southland Conference. The winner of the tournament receives the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Division I baseball tournament.

Led by 15th-year head coach Jim Sochor, UC Davis compiled an overall record of 9–2 with a mark of 6–0 in conference play, winning the NCAC title for the 14th consecutive season. 1984 was the team's 15th consecutive winning season. With the 6–0 conference record, the team stretched their conference winning streak to 21 games dating back to the 1981 season. The Aggies were ranked as high as No. 6 in the NCAA Division II poll. They advanced to the NCAA Division II Football Championship playoffs for the third straight year, where they lost to North Dakota State in the quarterfinals. This was the second straight year that North Dakota State eliminated UC Davis in the playoffs. The team outscored its opponents 295 to 133 for the season. The Aggies played home games at Toomey Field in Davis, California.
The 1983 UC Davis football team represented the University of California, Davis as a member of the Northern California Athletic Conference (NCAC) during the 1983 NCAA Division II football season. Led by 14th-year head coach Jim Sochor, UC Davis compiled an overall record of 11–1 with a mark of 6–0 in conference play, winning the NCAC title for the 13th consecutive season. 1983 was the team's 14th consecutive winning season. With the 6–0 conference record, the team stretched their conference winning streak to 15 games dating back to the 1981 season. They advanced to the NCAA Division II Football Championship playoffs for the second straight year, where they beat Butler in the quarterfinals before losing to eventual national champion North Dakota State in the semifinals. The 2020 Southeastern Louisiana Lions baseball team represented Southeastern Louisiana University in the 2020 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Lions played their home games at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field. The Lions compiled a record of 6–10 overall before the season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic on March 12. The Southland Conference announced a suspension of Spring sports through March 30 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The conference announced that all remaining Spring 2020 sports contests were cancelled on March 14.
The Lions have claimed two national championships in their history – men's outdoor track (1975) and women's basketball (1976–77) – and the 1975 baseball team advanced to the 1975 Division II College World Series where they finished third overall.
