The Northwestern State Demons baseball team is a varsity intercollegiate athletic team of Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana, United States. [2] The team is a member of the Southland Conference, which is part of the National Collegiate Athletic Association's Division I. The team plays its home games at H. Alvin Brown–C. C. Stroud Field in Natchitoches, Louisiana. The Demons are currently coached by Chris Bertrand

Gary Phillip Reasons is an American former professional football player who was a linebacker in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Northwestern State Demons from 1980 to 1983 and was the first player chosen as a first-team Division I-AA All-America team in three consecutive years. He also played professional football in the NFL for the New York Giants (1984–1991) and Cincinnati Bengals (1992). He played on the Giants teams that won Super Bowl XXI and Super Bowl XXV. Reasons later worked as a college football television analyst and sideline reporter for ABC/ESPN and Fox Sports Southwest. He has been inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame and the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame.

Brown–Stroud Field is a baseball venue in Natchitoches, Louisiana, United States. It is home to the Northwestern State Demons baseball team of the NCAA Division I Southland Conference. Opened on April 1, 1939, the venue has a capacity of 1,200 spectators. It is named after the first two coaches of the Northwestern State baseball program: C. C. Stroud, who coached from 1912 to 1930, and H. Alvin Brown, who coached from 1949 to 1966. Recently added features include chairback seating, an awning that partially covers seating areas, a turf infield, landscaping, and a sound system. The venue's bleacher seating and dugouts have recently been renovated.
