Niger is a state in the North Central region of Nigeria and the largest state in the country by area. Niger state has three political zones, zone A, B and C. The state's capital is at Minna. Other major cities are Bida, Kontagora and Suleja. It was formed in 1976 when the then North-Western State was divided into Niger State and Sokoto State. It is home to Ibrahim Babangida and Abdulsalami Abubakar, two of Nigeria's former military rulers. Kaduna Polytechnic is one of the earliest polytechnics in Nigeria, located at Tudun Wada area of Kaduna South local government of Kaduna state, North-Western Nigeria. It was established in 1956 as Kaduna Technical Institute after the British Government accepted the upgrading of Yaba Higher College to a technical institute and also proposed the establishment of technical institutes in Kaduna and Enugu through the recommendation of the Higher Education Commission. The polytechnic offers National Diploma and Higher National Diploma courses at the undergraduate level. In 2019/2020 academic session the institute will start awarding National Diploma in Railway Engineering Technology as approved by NBTE on 30 January 2020. The board of Governors of Kaduna Polytechnic was set up in 1991, with representative of eleven state governments, universities, rectors. The board is responsible for the supervision and control of the school. They are called the Governing Council.
Lagos State University of Science and Technology is a government-owned tertiary institution located in Ikorodu, Lagos State, Nigeria. The institution was formerly known as Lagos State College of Science and Technology (LACOSTECH) and later changed to Lagos State Polytechnic (LASPOTECH).
Margaret Kudirat Ladipo is a Nigerian academic and researcher who served as the Rector of Yaba College of Technology from 2009 to 2017.
Nigeria College of Education Games Association, popularly known as NICEGA Games is a sporting competition among all colleges of education in Nigeria. The first games was held in 1978. The 17th games, originally meant to hold in November 2011, was postponed till February 2012 by hosts, Federal College of Education, Omoku in Rivers State due to logistics challenges. For the 18th edition, 42 Nigerian colleges of education participated in the games hosted by Niger State College of Education, Minna. The 2015 edition saw the games return to the South to be hosted by Adeyemi College of Education. In the football tournament of the 19th games, Adeyemi College of Education were defeated by College of Education, Ikere-Ekiti.
Joy Udo-Gabriel is a Nigerian sprinter. She won a bronze medal in the 100 metres at the 2018 African Championships, a bronze medal in the 4 × 100 metres relay at the 2018 Commonwealth Games as well as a gold medal in the 4 x 100 metres relay at the 2019 African Games.
Sergey Olegovich Bida is a Russian left-handed épée fencer, three-time European épée team champion, and 2021 Olympic épée team silver medalist. He was ranked #1 in the world in 2020. He moved to the United States in June 2023, along with his wife, Olympic épée fencer Violetta Khrapina Bida. Bida is a member of USA Fencing.
Idiat Aderemi Amusu is a Nigerian engineer. She is the first female agricultural engineer in Nigeria and the first female council member of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN). She was among the original founding members of the Association of Professional Women Engineers of Nigeria (APWEN) in 1983.
Olubunmi Felix Owoso was a former Rector, Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) and Secretary-General of the Commonwealth Association of Technical Universities and Polytechnics in Africa (CAPA).
The Federal Polytechnic, Nasarawa, abbreviated FPN, is a tertiary institution in Nasarawa, Nasarawa State, Nigeria commonly referred to as FedPolyNas or simply FPN. The school was established on 1 July 1983 by the Federal Government of Nigeria to foster technological development in the society. In 2019, the school matriculated over 3,681 students, 2,361 being National Diploma and 1,320 being Higher National Diploma students. The Rector as of November 2020, Abdullahi Ahmed, revealed to National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) boss in Abuja, the desire of the institution to become a reference point in terms of adequate ICT infrastructure and standard training facilities and how much had been invested so far.

Olu Amoda is a Nigerian sculptor, muralist, furniture designer, and multimedia artist best known for using relics of discarded consumer such as rusty nails, metal plates, bolts, pipes, spoons and rods to create sculptural figures, flora and animals to highlight Nigerians socio-political and cultural issues from sex, politics, race and conflict to economic distribution. He is the founder of Riverside Art and Design Studios in Lagos, Nigeria.
