Nina's World is an animated children's television series. It is a spin-off/prequel to the Sprout network's first programming block, The Good Night Show , focusing on host Nina, [1] as a 6-year-old child who lives with her family in Chicago, Illinois. It's the second Sprout original series to be spun off from one of the network's programming blocks (the first being The Chica Show , which was spun off from The Sunny Side Up Show ). The show premiered on September 26, 2015 on the Sprout network. [2] This incarnation of Nina was introduced by Cat Greenleaf in August 2015. [3]

Plot

This show follows 6-year old Nina, who lives in the city of Chicago, as each adventure takes her on new things to try. At the end, she goes to bed while knowing all about the adventure.

1. Nina's Birthday; Nina's Big Adventure Written By Sheila Rogerson

Nina plans to make her sixth birthday the best birthday ever. However, nothing goes well. First, she loses her yellow bows but then they are later found. She is worried that Tio Javier isn’t going to make in time for her party. Then, she accidentally rips out the piñata, but she learns from Abuelita that any special day can still be a good day.

Nina is disappointed that she isn't going on a big adventure like her uncle Tio Javier. However, with a little imagination, she and Abuelita go around the block like their own adventure.

2. Nina the Nurse!; Super Nina! Written By Betty Quan Sheila Dinsmore

Abuelita is sick, so Nina is eager to be her nurse to recover Abuelita's cold. However, she must need to know what her patient really needs.

Nina and Carlos become superheroes to save the day, but then they realized that don't need to be superheroes to be amazing; they can be helpful-everyday-heroes and make a big difference.

Nina wants to grow taller. However, she realizes there are good things about being small and that she'll grow during the time.

When Mrs Lin teaches the kids about a Chinese shadow puppet Nina and her friends put on play. But she struggles on how her friends to play the role.

When Carlos accidentally breaks the kite that he and Nina made together for the kite festival, they must put aside their differences to make a new one with Skye's help.

Nina tries to paint a picture for a school project but she's having some trouble getting inspired on what to paint but then she made a surprise that often to like.

When Carlos and Max accidentally leave the door and scare away Dr Kapur's pet bird, Vikarm, Nina, Abuelita, and Star must rescue her.

Nina and Abuelita become delivering ladies to deliver some letters to the post office.

When Nina finds a frog a middle of the road while going to the library for her very first time with Abuelita and Chelsea she tries to find some frog books but then Hoppy starts to disrupt the people in the library.

Nina wants to learn how to play basketball, so Papi teaches her how.

Skye is watching Nina while her parents are out but after the girls watch a scary movie, they become shadow monsters.

When Dr Kapur gives Nina a henna on her arm she tries to be patient when it needs to dry before she can get up.

Nina learns to be open to new and different things when she gets the chance to plant her own garden.

When Nina finds a flower nicknamed Florecita that's growing in the sidewalk crack, she finds a way to save its beauty.

When Chelsea really wants winter to come back instead of just having summer Nina gives her a homesick snow party.

The show premiered as part of NBC Kids on January 2, 2016, with new episodes airing weekly through February, scheduled for 10:00am on Saturday mornings. [7]

On July 2, 2016, the show began airing on Telemundo's morning block MiTelemundo with two new episodes every Saturday morning at 9:30am–10:30am with Spanish audio track. [34]

Internationally, the series can also be found on eToonz in South Africa.

Reception

The series was positively received. Emily Ashby of Common Sense Media called the series "superb" and said that the series has "strong diversity, community, [and] family themes". She also argued that the series has themes of forging "strong relationships," solving issues, and embracing new situations, and stated the show's best aspect is its protagonist, who would "delight youngsters who tune in for her adventures." [35]

<i>Creamy Mami, the Magic Angel</i> Magical girl anime series

Creamy Mami, the Magic Angel is a magical girl anime television series produced by Studio Pierrot which aired from 1983 to 1984 on Nippon Television. It went on to have four OVA adaptions and featured in other Studio Pierrot special presentations. A three-volume manga was released during the original TV run, with the story written by Kazunori Itō and art by Yuuko Kitagawa.
