Nitin Agarwal (born 27 July 1966) is a 1989 batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer from Kerala cadre and served as the 31st Director General of the Border Security Force of India since 12 June 2023 till 31 July 2024. [1] [2] [3]
Aggarwal previously holds many important position in central governments 's agencies in his service and served as Additional Director General of Operations at the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) headquarters in Delhi. [4] [5]
Apart from working in various departments in Kerala,Nitin Agarwal has also headed the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). [4] [6]
Agarwal has completed his master's degree in B.Tech in civil engineering from Indian Institutions of Technology (Delhi) in year 1983 to 1987 and M.Tech from IIT Delhi in year 1987 to 1989 and agarwal also gain degree of M.Phil in social Science from Panjab University. [7]

The Border Security Force (BSF) is the Border Service branch of the Central Armed Police Force of India. It is a paramilitary responsible for guarding the border,particularly India’s borders with Pakistan and Bangladesh. It is under the command of the Ministry of Home Affairs and was formed in the wake of the Indo-Pakistani War of 1965 for ensuring the security of the borders of India and for connected matters therewith.

Pramod Kumar Thakur or P. K. Thakur,is a retired Indian Police Service (I.P.S.) officer of Bihar state in India,currently serving as Information commissioner in the state of Bihar. He served as Director General of Police of Bihar Police from June 2014 until his retirement in February 2018. He belongs to the I.P.S. batch of 1980. He has also served as Director General in Bihar. He was awarded with National Security Guard Disc for his outstanding work in the Central Police Organization as Inspector General (Administration). On 11 May 2022 Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath removed Director General of Police Mukul Goel from his post for inefficiency and neglecting his work. Thereafter,he worked as DGP at UP Police.
