Pankaj Kumar Singh (born 19 December 1962) was the 29th Director General of BSF, and an Indian Police Service officer of 1988 batch. He is the son of Ex BSF DG Prakash Singh. [1] He has been appointed as Deputy National Security Advisor of India in Jan 2023 for a period of 2 years. [2]
Pankaj Kumar Singh holds degrees of BSc (Hons) Physics from Hindu College, Delhi University, M.Phil. from Chennai University, LL.B Delhi University, and PG Diploma in Business Administration from IIM Ahmedabad. [3]
He is the son of former Director General of Border Security Force, Prakash Singh, who served as the DG of BSF from 1993 to 1994. [4]
He has been decorated with several DG's Discs and commendations. He also got awarded with UN Peace Medal (Bar), Police Medal for Meritorious Service and President Police Medal for Distinguished Service.

The Border Security Force (BSF) is India's border guarding organisation at its borders with Pakistan and Bangladesh. It is one of the seven Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) of India, and was raised in the wake of the Indo-Pakistani War of 1965 "for ensuring the security of the borders of India and for related matters".

Prakash Singh is a retired Indian Police Service officer, who rose to the highest rank of Director General of Police (DGP). He has served as Chief of the Border Security Force (BSF), Uttar Pradesh Police and Assam Police. He is considered one of the best police officers for his role as key architect for Police reforms in India. After his retirement from service in 1996, he filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in the Supreme Court of India. The landmark verdict of PIL came in 2006, in which the Supreme Court has given specific directions to the central and state governments to carry out structural changes in the police with a view to insulating it from extraneous pressures and making it accountable to the people.
Rajinder Khanna is the former chief of the Research and Analysis Wing, the external intelligence agency of India. He joined the Indian Police Service (IPS) in 1978 and was allotted to Odisha cadre. He served as Director General of Police of Bihar Police from June 2014 until his retirement in February 2018. He belongs to the I.P.S. batch of 1980. He has also served as Director General in Bihar. He was awarded with National Security Guard Disc for his outstanding work in the Central Police Organization as Inspector General (Administration). He was appointed on the post of Information commissioner of Bihar State Information Commission in October 2018.

Dr. Anand Prakash Maheshwari He is an IPS officer of 1984 batch, Uttar Pradesh cadre. His professional career as a soldier and policeman culminated as the Head of the largest paramilitary force in the world - The Central Reserve Police Force. Post retirement, he was appointed as the Advisor to Hon'ble Lieutenant Governor, Puducherry. He worked in this capacity till the formation of the State government.
Rajiv Rai Bhatnagar is a retired Indian Police Service-1983 batch officer of the Uttar Pradesh cadre. Tapan Kumar Deka commonly known as Tapan Deka is the 28th Director of Intelligence Bureau of India. Deka is an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of the 1988 (41RR), Deka was empanelled as Director general of police level in 2021. Deka's tenure as the Director of Intelligence Bureau started from 1 July as his predecessor Arvind Kumar's tenure ended on June 30, 2022.
