The title and artwork for the album was revealed on 30 July 2018. [2] He revealed the tracklist to the album on 24 August 2018, although the tracklist today features rearranged and replaced tracks. [3]

Singles

The album's lead single "No Do" was released on 1 December 2017, as the first song Kizz Daniel released after being dropped from G-Worldwide, his previous label, from contractual reasons. At the time of this song's release, he was still performing under the name Kiss Daniel. "No Do" was produced by Philkeyz. [4] The second single off the album, "One Ticket," features Davido and was released on 2 November 2018. Major Bangz produced the song. [5] The Lussh-produced third single "Madu" was released on 8 February 2019 alongside its music video with stars actress Beverly Osu and was directed by Aje Filmworks. Critical reception

Debola Abimbolu of the Native praised Kizz Daniel for showcasing his Afropop versatility and catchy melodies in his review of No Bad Songz. He noted that while the album explored themes of love and paranoia, it was the collaboration with artists like Nasty C and Wretch 32 that added a fresh dimension. Abimbolu highlighted tracks like "Poko" and "Ikwe" for their dancefloor appeal, stating, "The drum riff on ‘Ikwe’ is primed to charm listeners to their feet." [1]

In Ehis Ohunyon's review for Pulse Nigeria, he commended No Bad Songz for showcasing Kizz Daniel's vocal and artistic maturity, especially in tracks like "Ghetto" and "Ja" that reflect his recent life experiences. Ohunyon noted the album's versatility with "feel-good anthems" and introspective moments, although he felt the 20-track length added some filler. He rated the album 4 out of 5, calling it "an impressive follow-up to New Era." [9]

Dennis Ade Peter’s review for Nigerian Entertainment Today highlighted No Bad Songz as a confident and engaging album from Kizz Daniel, blending diverse beats with self-assured hooks. He noted that Kizz Daniel’s lighthearted charm and self-awareness kept the album enjoyable, even when exploring themes of love and ambition. Praising the album's appeal, he said, “Whether you believe his hype or not, it’s impossible to deny Kizz Daniel’s ability to craft an immaculately rendered hook.” While some tracks felt less substantial, Peter found the features and Kizz Daniel’s breezy delivery helped elevate the album overall. [10]

Accolades

No Bad Songz was nominated for Best R&B/Pop Album and Album of the Year at the 2019 edition of the Headies. [11]
