Nohl Laurence Williams is an American college football cornerback for the California Golden Bears. He previously played for the UNLV Rebels.
Williams attended Pacifica High School in Oxnard, California. He was rated as a three-star recruit and committed to play college football for the UNLV Rebels. [1] [2]
During Williams' first two seasons with the Rebels in 2020 and 2021, he totaled 58 tackles, five pass deflections, two interceptions, and a fumble recovery. [3] In 2022, he had a breakout season being named second-team all-Mountain West Conference after totaling 40 tackles, five pass deflections, three interceptions, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery. [4] After the conclusion of the 2022 season, Williams entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal. [5]
Williams transferred to play for the California Golden Bears. [6] In his first season with the Golden Bears in 2023, he totaled 53 tackles with two being for a loss, six pass deflections, two interceptions, a forced fumble, two fumble recoveries, and two touchdowns. [7] In week one of the 2024 season, Williams notched an interception and an 80-yard kickoff return touchdown, as he helped California beat UC Davis. [8] In week two, Williams was named the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) defensive back of the week after making two interceptions in the Golden Bears win over Auburn. [9]
Derrick Lee Strait is an American former professional football player who was a cornerback for three seasons in the National Football League (NFL) during the early 2000s. He played college football for the Oklahoma Sooners, earning unanimous All-American honors in 2003. The New York Jets chose him in the third round of the 2004 NFL draft, and he also played professionally for the Chicago Bears and Carolina Panthers of the NFL.
Antoine Brandon Cason is an American former professional football player who was a cornerback in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Arizona Wildcats where he was recognized as a consensus All-American and won the Jim Thorpe Award. He was selected by the San Diego Chargers in the first round of the 2008 NFL draft. Cason also played for Arizona Cardinals, Carolina Panthers, and Baltimore Ravens.
Prince Kelechi Amukamara is an American former professional football cornerback who played nine seasons in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for Nebraska, and earned unanimous All-American honors. He was selected by the New York Giants in the first round of the 2011 NFL draft, and was a member of the Giants' Super Bowl XLVI championship team as a rookie against his hometown team, the New England Patriots. Amukamara was also a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars, Chicago Bears, Las Vegas Raiders, Arizona Cardinals and New Orleans Saints.
