Norma Murabito (born 12 October 1987 in Taormina, Messina) is an Italian sprint canoeist. [2] [4] Murabito is a member of Aniene Canoeing Club (Italian : Circolo Canottieri Aniene) in Rome, and is coached and trained by Stefano Grillo. [3]

Murabito qualified for the first ever women's K-1 200 metres at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, by placing second from the European Qualification Tournament in Poznań, Poland. [5] She paddled in the first heat against seven other canoeists, including three-time Olympic champion Nataša Dušev-Janić of Hungary, and New Zealand's Lisa Carrington, who eventually won the gold medal in the final. Murabito finished the race only in seventh place by nearly half a second (0.5) behind U.S. canoeist Carrie Johnson, with a time of 43.820 seconds. Murabito, however, failed to advance into the semi-finals, as she ranked twenty-fifth overall, and placed outside the qualifying spots for the next round. [6]

Zhou Yu is a Chinese sprint canoeist. She won gold and silver medal in the women's kayak singles at the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou, China. Zhou is also a member of Hunan Sports Club, there she is coached and trained by Wu Yubiao.

Sarah Guyot is a French sprint canoeist. Guyot is a member of Canoe Kayak Club Tours in Tours, and is coached and trained by Nicolas Maillot. She began to canoe when she was 10, following an elder brother who also canoed at that time.

Hiroki Watanabe is a Japanese sprint canoeist born in Yamanashi prefecture. He won a bronze medal, along with his partner Keiji Mizumoto, in the men's kayak doubles at the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou, China.

The women's C-1 slalom canoeing event at the 2020 Summer Olympics took place on 28 and 29 July 2021 at the Kasai Canoe Slalom Course. 22 canoeists from 22 nations competed. The event was won by Jessica Fox from Australia, who already had three medals in K-1 slalom from the 2012, 2016, and 2020 Olympics. Briton Mallory Franklin won silver, and German Andrea Herzog bronze. For both of them it was the first Olympic medal.
