Obsidian Wreath is the fourth studio album [lower-alpha 1] by the American blackgaze screamo band Infant Island. It was released on January 12, 2024, through Secret Voice and Deathwish, Inc.. It was produced by Matthew Michel of Majority Rule at Ivakota Studio in Capitol Hill and at his studio in Fairfax, Virginia. The album includes a number of guest vocalist performances, but most prominently features members of shoegaze band Greet Death and metalcore band .Gif from God.

Contents

The band released the lead single from the album, "Another Cycle", on November 7, 2023, to critical acclaim. [4] [5] [6] The song was named the 28th best single of 2023 by digital magazine Beats Per Minute. [7] A second single, "Unrelenting", was released on December 5, 2023. [8] The third and final single, "Kindling", was released on January 3, 2024. [9]

The emo revival, or fourth wave emo, was an underground emo movement which began in the late 2000s and flourished until the mid-to-late 2010s. The movement began towards the end of the 2000s third-wave emo, with Pennsylvania-based groups such as Tigers Jaw, Algernon Cadwallader and Snowing eschewing that era's mainstream sensibilities in favor of influence from 1990s Midwest emo. Acts like Touché Amoré, La Dispute and Defeater drew from 1990s emo and especially its heavier counterparts, such as screamo and post-hardcore.

Fiddlehead is an American post-hardcore supergroup, formed in Boston, Massachusetts. The band's current line-up consists of Patrick Flynn (vocals) and Shawn Costa (drums) of Have Heart, Alex Henery (guitar) of Basement, Alex Dow (guitar) of Big Contest and Nick Hinsch (bass) of Stand Off and Nuclear Age.
