Pinback is the debut album by the indie rock band Pinback. There are at least two different versions of the album. The first version was released by Ace Fu Records on October 12, 1999. Another was released that same year in Europe by Cutty Shark Records. In the latter version two new tracks were added and the track ordering was also modified. Both "Versailles" and 'Byzantine" would later appear on the compilation, "Nautical Antiques".

They have been categorized by some reviewers as a math rock group and compared to groups such as Don Caballero, Sunny Day Real Estate and Pinback. However, as the band moved from a five piece to a two piece, their sound moved away from the angular sound of previous records and closer to a more melodic heavy composition structure with sing-a-long choruses. The current two-piece sound can be attributed to influences such as Dirty Projectors, Beirut and Grizzly Bear. In an interview with Baeble Music, Ward coined the band with the term "indie cabaret".

The soundtrack for the film Elizabethtown, directed by Cameron Crowe, constitutes multiple volumes released by RCA Records between 2005-2006. The first volume of original songs from the movie, titled Elizabethtown: Songs from the Motion Picture, was released September 13, 2005. The physical CD release of this first volume remains in print at the time of writing, but is not as pictured here, featuring instead the red cover art seen on AllMusic, and does not include the last song "Plush" referenced by the track listing here. The original score, composed by rock musician Nancy Wilson, was released on October 14, 2005. The four-song extended play Songs for the Ride Home was released as a limited-time iTunes Exclusive on December 20, 2005. A full-length follow-up collection, titled Elizabethtown: Volume 2, was released on February 7, 2006, and replaced Songs for the Ride Home on iTunes

Temporary Residence Limited is a Brooklyn, New York–based record label. TRL was started in Louisville, Kentucky, in 1996 by Jeremy DeVine, and initially concentrated on releasing music by Louisville-based bands. DeVine moved to Baltimore, Maryland, in the late 1990s to attend the Maryland Institute College of Art, but dropped out to concentrate on running the label by the end of the decade. DeVine later moved operations to Brooklyn, New York.

Information Retrieved, Pt.A is an EP by indie rock band Pinback released as an exclusive 7" vinyl for Record Store Day on April 16, 2011. The EP is contained in a brown paper cover and a silk-screened evidence bag with custom Record Store Day tape. It was limited to 2,000 copies, some of which were pressed on colored vinyl. The cover art was designed by Daniel Danger. It was the first installment in a trilogy of releases of vinyl singles that led up to the release of Pinback's fifth studio album, Information Retrieved, which released in 2012.

Information Retrieved, Pt. B is an EP by indie rock band Pinback that was released as an exclusive 7" vinyl for Black Friday on November 25, 2011. It is limited to 1700 copies.
