The Ohio Heritage Conference is an OHSAA athletic league whose members are located in the Ohio counties of Champaign, Clark, Madison, Greene and Union. The league was established in the fall of 2001. [1] [2]

Ohio Heritage Conference

History

The Ohio Heritage Conference was established in 2001 with the charter schools being Catholic Central, Cedarville, Greeneview, Mechanicsburg, Northeastern, Southeastern, Triad and West Liberty-Salem. [6]

In 2015, the OHC announced that Fairbanks and Madison Plains would join the conference. [7] Both schools officially joined the conference for the winter sports season in 2016. [8]

In 2016, the OHC announced that Greenon and West Jefferson would join the conference. [9] Both schools officially joined the conference for the fall sports season in 2017.

The OHC supports 23 league sports for both male and female competition. [4]

Southeast High School is a public high school located in the southeastern portion of Portage County in Palmyra Township near Ravenna, Ohio, United States. It is the only high school in the Southeast Local School District and was established in 1950 with the consolidation of five rural high schools. The current building opened in 1954 with additions built in the 1960s, 1980s, and 2000s. The district covers nearly 100 square miles (260 km2) including the entire townships of Edinburg and Palmyra, as well as most of Paris, Deerfield and Charlestown townships.

Bucyrus High School is a public high school in Bucyrus, Ohio, United States. The school is administered together with Bucyrus Middle School as the Bucyrus Secondary School, and serves students in grades six through twelve in the Bucyrus City School District. Athletic teams are known as the Redmen and the school colors are red and white.

West Liberty-Salem High School is a public high school in Salem Township, Champaign County, Ohio, United States. The only high school in the West Liberty-Salem School District, it is situated along U.S. Route 68 between West Liberty, Urbana.

Greenon High School is a public high school in Enon, Ohio. It is the only high school in the Greenon Local School District. Greenon High School has been designated as excellent, as evidenced by performance on state achievement tests. In 2017, the graduation rate was 94%.

West Jefferson High School is the only high school in the Jefferson Local School District, located in the village of West Jefferson in Madison County, Ohio. It is a public, college preparatory school. On average, about 369 students attend this high school per year. The school colors are brown and gold, and the mascot is the Roughrider.

Meigs High School is a public high school in Pomeroy, Ohio, United States. It is one of four high schools in Meigs County. The school mascot is the Marauders. Meigs High School is the creation of several school districts within Meigs County including Middleport, Pomeroy, Bedford, Northwestern, and Salem. Consolidation took place between the years 1965 and 1967 with construction of the new school beginning in the summer of 1968. The current school opened in 1970, and is still in use today.

The Clay Local School District (CLSD) is located four miles (6.4 km) north of the Portsmouth, Ohio, city limits on U.S. Route 23 in Clay Township in Scioto County—which is 85 miles (137 km) south of Columbus, Ohio; 50 miles (80 km) west of Huntington, West Virginia; and 100 miles (160 km) east of Cincinnati, Ohio. The Southern Ohio Conference (S.O.C.) is an athletic conference in Ohio. The conference is also a member of the Ohio High School Athletic Association, the governing body of Ohio athletics. There are currently seventeen member schools in the conference. The S.O.C. includes teams from five different Ohio counties - Jackson County, Gallia County Lawrence County, Pike County, and Scioto County. The conference recognizes: baseball, boys' and girls' basketball, boys' and girls' cross country, football, boys' and girls' soccer, fast pitch softball, boys' and girls' swimming, boys' and girls' tennis, boys' and girls' track and field athletics, and girls' volleyball.

The Ohio Cardinal Conference, which began play in 2003, is an OHSAA athletic league whose members are from Ashland, Holmes, Richland, and Wayne counties in Ohio. The conference name stems from the local legacy of the Cardinal Conference.

The Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference is an OHSAA athletic league whose members are located in the Ohio counties of Crawford, Marion, and Richland. The league was established in the fall of 1990.

Cedarville High School is a public high school in Cedarville, Ohio. It is the only high school in the Cedar Cliff Local School District. Some notable things the school has accomplished recently are the cross country team qualifying for the state meet in 2018 and also 2019.
