Olbramovice (German : Wolframitz) is a market town (městys) in Znojmo District in the South Moravian Region of the Czech Republic.
German is a West Germanic language that is mainly spoken in Central Europe. It is the most widely spoken and official or co-official language in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, South Tyrol (Italy), the German-speaking Community of Belgium, and Liechtenstein. It is also one of the three official languages of Luxembourg and a co-official language in the Opole Voivodeship in Poland. The languages which are most similar to German are the other members of the West Germanic language branch: Afrikaans, Dutch, English, the Frisian languages, Low German/Low Saxon, Luxembourgish, and Yiddish. There are also strong similarities in vocabulary with Danish, Norwegian and Swedish, although those belong to the North Germanic group. German is the second most widely spoken Germanic language, after English.
Městys is a status conferred on certain municipalities in the Czech Republic, lying in terms of size and importance higher than that of obec, but lower than that of město. Sometimes, "město" is translated as "city" and "městys" is translated as "town" or "market town".
Znojmo District is one of seven districts (okres) within South Moravian Region of the Czech Republic. Its capital is the town of Znojmo.
The town covers an area of 17.21 square kilometres (6.64 sq mi), and has a population of 1,044 (as at 3 July 2006).
Olbramovice lies approximately 31 kilometres (19 mi) north-east of Znojmo, 29 km (18 mi) south-west of Brno, and 188 km (117 mi) south-east of Prague.
