On the Cover II is the second studio cover album by American punk rock band MxPx, released on March 24, 2009.

Songs

The album is a sequel to the On the Cover (1995) EP and features covers of various 1980s songs. [5] [6] Craig Owens of Chiodos features on the cover of Poison's "Fallen Angel". [7] Ethan Luck of Relient K features on the cover of Queen's "Somebody to Love", [8] as does Bryce Avary of the Rocket Summer, who performs vocals and keyboards. [9] Emily Whitehurst of Tsunami Bomb and the Action Design features on the cover of Belinda Carlisle's "Heaven Is a Place on Earth". [10] Matt Hensley of Flogging Molly features on the cover of Dead Milkmen's "Punk Rock Girl". [11]

Release

In December 2008, the band said that the album would be released in March 2009. [12] The album's artwork was posted online on January 5, 2009. [13] On February 8, 2009, a medley of covers from the album was posted on the group's Myspace profile. [14] Beginning on February 9, 2009, feature artists were announced, one per day, on Alternative Press' website. [15] On the Cover II was originally planned for released on March 10, [16] until it was eventually released on March 24. [15] In May 2009, the band played two shows in China with SKO and Secret 7 Line. [17]

Tsunami Bomb is an American punk rock band from Petaluma, California. They were formed in 1998 by bassist Dominic Davi, with keyboardist/vocalist Oobliette Sparks and later joined by drummer Gabe Lindeman. With vocalist Emily Whitehurst aka "Agent M" they would become a staple of Warped Tour and toured extensively throughout the United States, Europe, and Japan, going through a number of lineup changes until they disbanded in 2005 after releasing two full length albums and a number of EP's. In 2015 the band reformed with new vocalist Kate Jacobi and later guitarist Andy Pohl and has remained active since, touring and appearing on a variety of festivals.

The album was released on MxPx's own label, Rock City Recording Company, as well as a few others in various countries including Bullion Records in Japan, Flix Records in Europe and the UK, and El Shaddai Records in Australia and New Zealand. Plans Within Plans was written, recorded, and produced by the band.

MxPx is the tenth studio album by American rock band MxPx self-released on July 25, 2018. The band used the crowd-funding website Kickstarter and exceeded their $50,000 goal by over $200,000. A month before the album's release, MxPx released a music video of "Let's Ride." A deluxe edition of the record was also released, containing the original track listing along with four bonus songs and acoustic versions of five of the original tracks.
