One Take Radio Sessions is a compilation of live-in-studio tracks by British singer-songwriter and guitarist Mark Knopfler, released on 21 June 2005 by Mercury Records internationally and Warner Bros. Records in the United States. The tracks were recorded in one take at Shangri-la Studios in Malibu, California. The record contains live in-studio versions of seven songs from the 2004 album Shangri-La and one song, "Rüdiger", from the album Golden Heart . This release is in fact an extended version of The Trawlerman's Song EP, featuring two more tracks and a revised version of the title track. [1]

In his review for AllMusic, James Christopher Monger gave the record two out of five stars. Although Monger thought "the playing is top-notch, the recording impeccable, and the tunes are strong", he felt that the release offered nothing new that had not been previously delivered on the 2004 album Shangri-La. [1]

Privateering is the seventh solo studio album by British singer-songwriter and guitarist Mark Knopfler, released on 3 September 2012 by Mercury Records. The first studio double-album of Knopfler's 35-year career as a recording artist, Privateering consists of 20 original songs, and integrates blues rock with traditional folk and country genres. Recorded between March and December 2011, the album received generally positive reviews throughout Europe, and reached the number one position on album charts in Austria, Germany, Norway and the Netherlands, as well as the number two or three position in Belgium, Italy, New Zealand, Poland, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland. Shangri-La is a recording studio in Malibu, California, currently owned by record producer Rick Rubin. Originally a ranch property with a bungalow owned by actress Margo, it was leased by The Band in the 1970s and converted to a recording studio by Rob Fraboni to the precise specifications of Bob Dylan and The Band. Interviews of The Band featured in Martin Scorsese's documentary The Last Waltz were filmed at Shangri-La. The property was purchased by Rick Rubin in 2011. Rubin and Shangri-La were the subject of a four-part documentary series, Shangri-La, which aired on Showtime in 2019.
