Oosterse Bos is a hamlet in the Netherlands and is part of the Emmen municipality in Drenthe.

Oosterse Bos has a statistical entry with Middendorp, [1] however the postal authorities have placed it under Schoonebeek. [3] It was first mentioned in the 1850s as 't Oosteinde, and means the eastern forest. [4]

Schoonebeek was a separate municipality from 1884 to 1997, when it merged with Emmen. The area is home of the largest onshore oil field in Europe; known as the Schoonebeek oil field.

The Schoonebeek oil field is an oil field located in Schoonebeek, Drenthe. It was discovered in 1943 and developed by Royal Dutch Shell. It began production in 1947 and produces oil. The total proven reserves of the Schoonebeek oil field are around 1 billion barrels (133.8×106tonnes), and production is centered on 3,000 barrels per day (480 m3/d).

Stien den Hollander, known professionally as S10, is a Dutch singer, rapper and songwriter. She began her musical career in 2016, and was signed to the Dutch hip hop record label Noah's Ark in 2017. In 2019, she released her debut studio album Snowsniper, which went on to win an Edison Award. Den Hollander is set to represent the Netherlands in the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 with the song "De diepte", the first Eurovision entry to be sung in the Dutch language since 2010.
