Osa, Missouri

Osa is an unincorporated community in the northeast corner of Barry County, in the U.S. state of Missouri. [1] The community is on Missouri Route JJ 1.5 miles north of Revisville. Crane in adjacent Stone County is three miles to the east. [2]

History

A post office called Osa was established in 1895, and remained in operation until 1908. [3] The origin of the name Osa is obscure. [4]

It sits on the east margin of the Black River floodplain. The Missouri Pacific Railway passes the west side of the community along the Black River floodplain.

Cato is an unincorporated community in Barry County, in the U.S. state of Missouri. The community is located on Missouri Route 39 in the Mark Twain National Forest, approximately ten miles east-northeast of Cassville.

Corsicana is an unincorporated community in western Barry County, in the U.S. state of Missouri. The community is located along a tributary to Shoal Creek, four miles west-southwest of Purdy.
