Helgo Nikolaus Zettervall, older spelling Zetterwall, was a Swedish architect and professor of the Royal Swedish Academy of Arts. He is best known for his drastic restorations of churches and other buildings around Sweden.

It is one of the seven preserved medieval churches in Gothenburg, and the only one of them representing Gothic architecture. It originates from the 14th century, but the bell tower had not been erected until 1634. The church has been renovated many times, most recently in 1998.

Nol Church is a church in Nödinge-Nol, Västergötland, Sweden. It belongs to the parish of Starrkärr-Kilanda in the Diocese of Gothenburg. The church was built in 1987 by the architect Kjell Malmqvist, replacing an old mission building. The church bell was cast at the Bergholtz bell foundry in Sigtuna. The stained-glass windows in the chancel are by Roland Andersson, and the textiles in the church were woven by Christina Westman in Gothenburg. The organ was purchased in 1989 from King's Gymnasium in Stockholm, but was sold in 1999 to the Diocese of Skara and was replaced with an Ahlborn digital organ.
Skepplanda Church is a church in Nödinge-Nol, Västergötland, Sweden. It belongs to Skepplanda-Hålanda parish in the Diocese of Gothenburg. The present church building was begun in 1698 and was completed in 1705, partly built on the walls of the original church from the Middle Ages. The medieval church was largely destroyed by two storms in 1635 and 1674. The ceiling paintings, dating from 1770, were painted by Johan Burman. A church tower in the west was built 1753 and a porch to the south was added in 1756. The tower was destroyed in 1863 but rebuilt the following year. The baptismal font dates from the 13th century. The interior style is late baroque; the pulpit, altarpiece and baptismal font are the same age as the church's reconstruction.
Älvängen Church is a church in Älvängen, Västergötland, Sweden. It belongs to Skepplanda-Hålanda parish in the Diocese of Gothenburg. Älvängens Church is a modern church, built in 1970 by architect T. Hansson and manufactured by Öresjö sektionshus. In 1982 it was extended under Kjell Malmqvist, during which a bell tower was added at the side of the church. The clock in the bell tower was cast at the Bergholtz bell foundry in Sigtuna. The following year the church was reopened. The altarpiece of wood was painted by Harry W. Smith. The textiles in the church were made by Christina Westman in Gothenburg. The original organ, a Grönvalls, was inaugurated in 1977, but it was sold in 1999 and replaced with a digital organ of the brand Ahlbom.
Ödenäs Church is a church in Ödenäs, Alingsås, Västergötland, Sweden. It belongs to the parish of Ödenäs, in the Diocese of Skara. Two former wooden churches preceded the current stone church, and one from the Middle Ages and also one from about 1700. The current church building was built in 1840 and designed by Fredrik Wilhelm Scholander. In the nave's west side is a tower with a lantern. The organ was added in 1921 by Olof Hammarberg.
