Oshtava is located in the municipality of Kresna, Blagoevgrad Province, in southwestern Bulgaria. The village sits at an elevation of approximately 685–761 meters above sea level, within a geological trench known as the Oshtava Graben, formed by faulting activity in the region. It is surrounded by the Pirin and Maleshevo Mountains, and the Struma River flows through it via the Kresna Gorge, creating a mountainous landscape and a narrow valley. The area is rich in mineral springs, such as the Oshtavski Mineral Springs, and boasts a diverse flora resulting from the varied topography and climate. [2]
