The Holy Spirit Cathedral [1] (French : Cathédrale Notre Dame de l’Assomption), also called Tangier Cathedral, is a Roman Catholic church located in Tangier, Morocco. The cathedral serves as the seat of the Archdiocese of Tangier. [2]
The edifice is also known as the Spanish Cathedral (Catedral Española), being the only exponent in the locality of the Spanish modernist architecture of the second half of the twentieth century in Morocco.
The cathedral was inaugurated in 1961. It was designed and built with modern architectural techniques, following classic proportions by the architect Luis Martínez-Feduchi .
