Out on the Mountain is the annual lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) Pride event held at Six Flags Magic Mountain. Over 5,000 people attend this annual Southern California event of thrill rides and private LGBTQ party. [1]

The 2024 event was held on August 16, 2024 with performers Kylie Sonique Love and Luxx Noir London from RuPaul's Drag Race and Alice Chater. [2] [3]

History

Out on the Mountain is the creation of Six Flags Magic Mountain with Ray Rhodes and Out Ventures in 2008. [4]

Past performers have included Tyler Glenn of the Neon Trees, Jessica Sutta of The Pussycat Dolls, Martha Wash (“It's Raining Men”), Jessica Sanchez (American Idol), Daniel Joseph Baker (America's Got Talent), RuPaul's Drag Race stars (Alaska, [5] Chad Michaels, Trinity Taylor, [6] Shangela, Aja, Raven, [7] Courtney Act, Derrick Barry, Delta Work, Pandora Boxx, Ariel Versace, Mariah Balenciaga, and Salina EsTitties [8] ), and pop stars (Alexis Jordan, Maty Noyes, Natalia Kills, Kaya Stewart, and The Future X).

On its tenth anniversary, Out on the Mountain had Derrick Barry from RuPaul's Drag Race perform. [9]

On its fifteenth anniversary, Out on the Mountain had Salina EsTitties perform and Delta Work host from RuPaul's Drag Race. [10]

RuPaul's DragCon NYC is an annual fan convention and expo of drag culture held in New York City, which debuted in September 2017. It is based on the successful RuPaul's DragCon LA which was launched in Los Angeles in 2015 billed as a “convention that celebrates ‘the art of drag, queer culture and self-expression for all’”. The NYC event is considered the "world's largest celebration of drag culture" with 100,000 attendees. The event is an outgrowth of the internationally successful RuPaul's Drag Race, which generated Drag Race Thailand, RuPaul's Drag Race UK, RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars, and Chile's The Switch Drag Race. "Whatcha Unpackin?" is the first episode of the eleventh season of RuPaul's Drag Race. It originally aired on February 28, 2019. Miley Cyrus is a guest judge. Silky Nutmeg Ganache wins the episode's mini-challenge, and Brooke Lynn Hytes wins the main challenge. Soju is eliminated from the competition after placing in the bottom two and losing a lip-sync against Kahanna Montrese to Cyrus' "The Best of Both Worlds".
