Ouyang Yi (born 28 June 1968) is a former high-school teacher,one of the managers of a pro-democracy web site,and a member of the China Democracy Party.
Ouyang was born in Suining,Sichuan Province. He graduated from Chuanbei College of Education (川北教育学院),Sichuan Province,and was a middle school teacher in Chengdu,Sichuan. He was a pro-democracy activist since the late 1980s. [1] He was one of the managers of the web site,www.5633.com,set up in July 2002,and a member of the China Democracy Party,an organization banned by in the People’s Republic of China.
Ouyang was reportedly taken into custody on 4 December 2002,for the fifth time in six years,by members of the security police who searched his home and confiscated a number of documents. He was held at the Chengdu detention centre,Sichuan Province.
On 7 January 2003,Ouyang was formally charged by the Public Security Bureau with "inciting the overthrow of the State power" under article 105 of the Chinese Criminal code as amended in March 1997. [2]
An intermediate people’s court in Chengdu in the south-west sentenced him on 16 March 2004 to two years in prison. [3]
He was released on 4 December 2004,but is prohibited from publishing for two years and will be under close police supervision.

Huang Qi is a Chinese webmaster and human rights activist from Sichuan. He is the co-founder of Tianwang Center for Missing Persons,along with his wife Zeng Li. Initially the mission of the organization was to help counter human trafficking that had become a swelling problem in the late 1990s,but later it was expanded to include campaign against human rights abuse. Huang is also the owner and webmaster of 64tianwang.com,a website originally intended to release news about people who had disappeared in the People's Republic of China.
Leung Kwok-hung,also known by his nickname "Long Hair" (長毛),is a Hong Kong politician and social activist. He was a member of the Legislative Council,representing the New Territories East. A Trotskyist in his youth,he was a founding member of the Revolutionary Marxist League. He became a political icon with his long hair and Che Guevara T-shirt in the protests before he was elected to the Legislative Council in 2004. In 2006,he co-founded a social democratic party,the League of Social Democrats (LSD) of which he was the chairman from 2012 to 2016.
Lithang Tulku Tenzin Delek Rinpoche or Tenzing Deleg was a Tibetan Buddhist leader from Garze,Sichuan. He is also known for working to develop social,medical,educational and religious institutions for Tibetan nomads in eastern Tibet,as an advocate for environmental conservation in the face of indiscriminate logging and mining projects,and as a mediator between Tibetans and Chinese.
Zhou Yongkang is a former senior leader of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). He was a member of the 17th Politburo Standing Committee (PSC),China's highest decision-making body,and the Secretary of the Central Political and Legal Affairs Commission (Zhengfawei) between 2007 and 2012,making him one of the most powerful leaders in China. In that position,Zhou oversaw China's security apparatus and law enforcement institutions,with power stretching into courts,prosecution agencies,police forces,paramilitary forces,and intelligence organs. He was convicted of corruption-related charges in 2014 and expelled from the CCP in the same year.

Ran Yunfei is a Chinese writer and a high-profile democracy activist and blogger. He was arrested in late March 2011,shortly after the start of the 2011 Chinese pro-democracy protests,on charges of "inciting subversion of state power". He was released in August 2011 and remains under residential surveillance. Ran expressed through social media that he converted to Christianity on 31 October 2015. He was baptized by Pastor Wang Yi at Early Rain Covenant Church,and has been attending a Bible study since 2013.
The 2011 crackdown on dissidents in China refers to the arrest of dozens of mainland Chinese rights lawyers,activists and grassroots agitators in a response to the 2011 Chinese pro-democracy protests. Since the protests,at least 54 Chinese activists have been arrested or detained by authorities in the biggest crackdown on dissent since the 1989 Tiananmen Square protests and massacre. Since the start of the protests in mid-February 2011,human rights groups have claimed that more than 54 people have been arrested by authorities,some of whom have been charged with crimes. Among those arrested are bloggers who criticise the government such as Ai Weiwei,lawyers who pursue cases against the government,and human rights activists.

Ding Mao,born in Mianyang,Sichuan on 9 November 1968,is a Chinese dissident. As a student,he was one of the leaders of the student democracy movement,known through the Tiananmen Square 1989 protest. He became general manager of an investment company,and one of the founders of the unrecognized Social Democratic Party. Mao was recently detained on 19 February 2011,and held at Mianyang Municipal Detention Center before being released into residential surveillance on 2 December 2011.
Li Chuncheng is a former Chinese politician. He spent his early career in Heilongjiang Province,before being transferred to Sichuan in 1998. He served as the Mayor and then Communist Party Secretary of Chengdu,capital of Sichuan province,between 2001 and 2011. He then served as Deputy Party Secretary of Sichuan Province between 2011 and 2012.
Xu Mengjia is a former Chinese politician who spent most of his career in Southwest China's Sichuan province. He was investigated by the Chinese Communist Party's anti-graft agency in December 2013. Previously he served as the Communist Party Secretary of Ya'an.
Wang Yi,pen name Wang Shuya,is the founding pastor of the Early Rain Covenant Church,a Calvinist house church in Chengdu. He is also a productive writer,editor,and social activist,and was a legal scholar at Chengdu University before he resigned to take up the pastorate.
Hu Changsheng is a Chinese politician currently serving as Communist Party Secretary of Gansu and Chairman of the People's Congress of Gansu Province. He joined the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in January 1986,and entered the workforce in July of that same year. He is an alternate member of the 19th CCP Central Committee.
Early Rain Covenant Church is a house church within the Reformed Presbyterian tradition based in the Sichuanese provincial capital city of Chengdu,southwestern China. It was established as Early Rain Blessings Fellowship by Pastor Wang Yi and his wife,Jiang Rong,in their own home in Chengdu,in April 2005. The small congregation has evolved into a house church three years later,and since then it had been variously known as Early Rain Blessings Church,Early Rain Reformed Church and Early Rain Reformed Presbyterian Church before adopting its current name.
