The Ozark Conference was a high school athletic conference represented by 11 schools in the southwest portion of Missouri. As the name implies, all eleven schools are in the Ozarks region of the state and all are among the biggest in the region (only West Plains and Hillcrest are not Class 5 in basketball). The conference offers championships for girls in Basketball, Cross Country, Golf, Soccer, Softball, Swimming & Diving, Tennis, Track & Field, Volleyball, and Wrestling. In boys sports, the conference offers championships in Baseball, Basketball, Cross Country, Football, Golf, Soccer, Swimming & Diving, Tennis, Track & Field, and Wrestling.

The conference features All five of the public schools in Springfield and also the large central public schools in Rolla, Lebanon, and West Plains. Camdenton High School is the central school at the Lake of the Ozarks while Waynesville High School is the main high school for the military communities around the large Fort Leonard Wood army post, including Waynesville and St. Robert. The conference will disband after the 2023-24 school year with Hillcrest, Bolivar, and West Plains joining the Ozark Mountain Conference, Glendale, Kickapoo, Lebanon, and Waynesville joining the COC, Camdenton joining the CMAC, and Rolla, Parkview, and Central going independent.

As of the 2017/18 School year Joplin HS has swapped conferences to the COC. Replacing Joplin is former OC member Central.

Bolivar High School applied to join the OC after the COC Small Division dissolved–leaving Bolivar as an independent school. November 5, 2019, it was announced that Bolivar's football program would enter the Ozark Conference in 2020, replacing Central. Central will become an independent in football but remain in the OC in other sports. Bolivar will be a "football only" school in the OC and their other sports programs will remain independent. As of March 2020 Bolivar has been approved as a full member of the conference and will compete in all sports.

As of the 2024-25 school year, the schools joined the Central Ozark Conference (Central, Glendale, Parkview, Kickapoo, Lebanon, & Waynesville), Ozark Mountain Conference (Hillcrest & West Plains), Central Missouri Athletic Conference (Camdenton), and Rolla remained independent.

*As of 10/11/23 they are leaving the Ozark Conference to form new Ozark Mountain Conference.

Fort Leonard Wood is a U.S. Army training installation located in the Missouri Ozarks. The main gate is located on the southern boundary of the city of St. Robert. The post was created in December 1940 and named in honor of General Leonard Wood in January 1941. Originally intended to train infantry troops, in 1941 it became an engineer training post with the creation of the Engineer Replacement Training Center. During World War II Italian and German POWs were interned at the fort. In 1984, as part of the Base Realignment and Closure process, most of the U.S. Army Engineer School's operations were consolidated at Fort Leonard Wood. Before that, officer training was conducted at Fort Belvoir, Virginia.

The Central Ozarks Conference is a high school athletic conference represented by 14 schools in the southwest portion of Missouri. All schools are in the Ozarks state region. The Central Ozark Conference offers championships for girls in Basketball, Cross Country, Golf, Soccer, Softball, Swimming & Diving, Tennis, Track & Field, Volleyball, and Wrestling. The Central Ozark Conference offers championships for boys Baseball, Basketball, Cross Country, Football, Golf, Soccer, Swimming & Diving, Tennis, Track & Field, and Wrestling.

The Big Eight Conference is an athletic conference comprising medium-size high schools located in the Ozarks of southwest Missouri. The conference members are based around the Joplin and Springfield areas and are located in the counties of Barry, Barton, Lawrence, McDonald, Newton, and Vernon.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Henry H. Hohenschild</span> American architect

Henry H. Hohenschild, also known as H.H. Hohenschild, was an architect based in Rolla, Missouri, USA. He was born in St. Louis, and educated in the city's public schools. Hohenschild moved to Rolla in 1881, where he established an architectural practice designing public and residential buildings. He was elected to the Missouri Senate in 1896. In 1899 was appointed State Architect by Governor Lon V. Stephens which involved the architect in designing several state buildings including some at the state penitentiary. In addition to 10 county courthouses, he designed several buildings for the School of Mines, the State Mental Institution in Farmington (1901), the Tuberculosis Sanitarium in Mount Vernon, Missouri (1905), and the temporary state capitol building in Jefferson City in 1912. He died on February 3, 1928, in St. Louis from a heart condition.

Frank Tristan is an American college football coach. He is the head football coach for Glendale High School in Springfield, Missouri, a position he has held since 2024. He was the head football coach for Southwestern Assemblies of God University from 2015 to 2017, Western New Mexico University from 2018 to 2020, and Willard High School in Willard, Missouri, from 2021 to 2023. He played college football and baseball for Evangel and also coached for Evangel, Hillcrest High School, and Kickapoo High School where he served as defensive coordinator.
