Pakistan competed in the first ever South Asian Winter Games held in Dehradun and Auli, India, from 10 January to 16 January 2011. [1] It sent a contingent of 27 officials and athletes. [1] It participated in slalom, giant slalom, cross-country skiing, and biathlon events. [2]

Australia has competed in every Winter Paralympics. In 1976, the first Games, Australia's sole competitor was Ron Finneran, but he was not an official entrant. In 1980, Kyrra Grunnsund and Peter Rickards became the first official competitors, in alpine and cross-country skiing. The number of Australian athletes increased to three, five, five and six at the next four games, respectively, and all of the athletes were alpine skiers. The participation decreased to four in 1998 and climbed back up to six in 2002. Australia won its first Winter Paralympic medals in 1992, and has medalled at every games since then. All of the medals have been won in alpine skiing.
The Naltar Valley is a valley situated about 34 kilometres from the city of Gilgit in Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. It is a forested area distinguished by its three lakes, Strangi Lake, Blue Lake, and Bodlok Lake, as well as by the mountainous landscape.
Alpine skiing at the 1999 Winter Asian Games took place in the resort town of Yongpyong, Gangwon, South Korea with six events contested — three each for men and women. Slalom events were reinstated in this edition of the games after being substituted for Super Giant slalom events in the 1996 Winter Asiad in Harbin, China.
Muhammad Abbas, is a Pakistani alpine skier who was his nation's first competitor at the Winter Olympic Games, in 2010. Muhammad Abbas was not expected to win any medal, but he outraced some of the other debuting skiers. A group said to be particularly interested were Pakistani Canadians.
Afghanistan is a member of the Central Asian Zone of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), and has participated in the Asian Games since their inception in 1951. Afghanistan has also participated at the Asian Winter Games since 2007 but missed the 2017 edition held in Sapporo. The National Olympic Committee of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, established in 1935 and recognised by the International Olympic Committee in 1936, is the National Olympic Committee for Afghanistan. The Committee is currently in exile and presided by Hafizullah Wali Rahimi: the International Olympic Committee has not recognized the Taliban regime's Committee, headed by Nazar Mohammad Mutmaeen.

The Pakistan Olympic Association, established in 1948, and recognised in the same year by the International Olympic Committee, is the National Olympic Committee for Pakistan.
The 2011 South Asian Winter Games, officially the 1st South Asian Winter Games, were held in Dehradun and Auli, in the Himalayan state of Uttarakhand, India in January 2011. The games were conducted by the Indian Olympic Association and the Winter Games Federation of India. A grand opening and closing ceremony took place on 10 January 2011 and 16 January 2011, in Dehradun and Auli, respectively.
Ifrah Wali, is a Pakistani alpine skier. She is the first winner of the Giant Slalom event at any South Asian Winter Games when she won at the inaugural games held in India.
Amina Wali is a Pakistani alpine skier and a recipient of Pride of Performance. She remained national champion for 15 years. In acknowledgement of her extra ordinary achievements in sports, she was conferred Presidential Award of Pride of Performance in 2023. She is nominated as goodwill ambassador to Plan International organization for supporting its campaign "because I am a girl".
Mir Nawaz is a Pakistani alpine skier. His bronze medal in Giant slalom skiing at the 2011 South Asian Winter Games was Pakistan's first ever medal at any South Asian Winter Games.
Alpine skiing at the 2014 Winter Olympics was held in Russia from 9–22 February at Rosa Khutor Alpine Resort near Krasnaya Polyana, east of Sochi.
Pakistan competed at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia from 7 to 23 February 2014. Pakistan's team consisted of one athlete in alpine skiing. The country competed for the second consecutive Winter Games, after making its debut four years earlier in Vancouver. The flag bearer for the opening and closing ceremonies was Pakistan's sole athlete Muhammad Karim.
Muhammad Karim is an alpine skier from Pakistan. He became the second Pakistani to participate in a Winter Olympics when he competed at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. He participated in the slalom and giant slalom events and got a rank of 71 in the giant slalom. He also competed in the 2018 Winter Olympics. He participated in the giant slalom and secured a rank of 72.
Alpine skiing at the 2018 Winter Olympics was held from 12 to 24 February at Yongpyong Alpine Centre at the Alpensia Sports Park in PyeongChang and at the Jeongseon Alpine Centre in Jeongseon, South Korea.
Alpine skiing at the 2017 Asian Winter Games was held in Sapporo, Japan between 22–25 February at Sapporo Teine. A total of four events were contested: men's and women's giant slalom and slalom.

The Pakistani delegation consisted of two athletes: alpine skier Muhammad Karim and cross-country skier Syed Human. As of the close of these Olympics, Pakistan has yet to win a Winter Olympics medal.

India competed at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, China, from 4 to 20 February 2022. The country's participation in Beijing marked its eleventh appearance at the Winter Olympics since its debut in 1964.
Arif Khan is an Indian alpine skier, who competes in the slalom. In 2011, he won two gold medals: in the slalom and giant slalom Alpine skiing at the South Asian Winter Games.
