Bharathiraja is an Indian film director and actor who works mainly in the Tamil film industry. Making his debut in 1977 with 16 Vayathinile, he is known for realistic and sensitive portrayals of rural life in his films. As of 2017, he has won six National Film Awards, four Filmfare Awards South, six Tamil Nadu State Film Awards and a Nandi Award. He has also directed films in Telugu and Hindi. The Government of India honoured him with the Padma Shri award, India's fourth-highest civilian honour, in 2004 for his contribution to the film industry. In 2005, he was conferred with the Doctor of Letters from Sathyabama University.
Murali Karthikeyan Muthuraman, better known by his stage name Karthik, is an Indian actor, playback singer and politician who works in Tamil cinema. He is the son of veteran actor R. Muthuraman. In the 1980s and 90s, Karthik was one of the biggest stars in the industry. He was first introduced by Bharathiraja in the Tamil film Alaigal Oivathillai (1981) and became a lead actor in Tamil films by his own. He has also appeared in some Telugu films where he was initially credited as Murali. Karthik is popularly known as Navarasa Nayagan for his "ability to emote all forms of actions and emotions". He has acted in more than 125 films. He has been the recipient of four Tamil Nadu State Film Awards, a Nandi Award and four Filmfare Awards South.
Siddharth Suryanarayan, known mononymously as Siddharth, is an Indian actor who primarily works in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi language films. Apart from acting, he has also been involved in films as a screenwriter, producer and playback singer. He has also been featured in many advertisements.
Boys is a 2003 Indian Tamil-language coming-of-age musical film directed by S. Shankar. It stars newcomers Siddharth, Bharath, Manikandan, S. Anjaneya is a 2003 Indian Tamil-language action film directed by N. Maharajan, featuring Ajith Kumar, Meera Jasmine in lead roles, alongside an ensemble cast. The film, produced by S. S. Chakravarthy, had its score and soundtrack composed by Mani Sharma. The film opened on 24 October 2003 alongside Vijay's Thirumalai and the film gained high negative reviews with critics. Manoj K. Bharathi is an Indian actor. He is most noted as the son of director Bharathiraja. Manoj made his acting debut with Taj Mahal in 1999. Thiagarajan Sivanandam is an Indian actor, director and producer in Tamil cinema. Beside Tamil, he has also acted in several Malayalam and Kannada films and a few Telugu films. He is the father of Tamil actor Prashanth and the maternal uncle of Tamil actor Vikram.

Vaaimai is a 2016 Indian Tamil-language courtroom drama film written and directed by A. Senthil Kumar. Inspired by the script of Reginald Rose's Twelve Angry Men (1954), the film stars Shanthnu Bhagyaraj and Muktha Bhanu amongst an ensemble cast. Goundamani, Thyagarajan, Ramki, Urvashi, Manoj K. Bharathi, Prithvi Pandiarajan and Poornima Bhagyaraj are also part of the cast. Though production had begun in 2013, the film released following a production delay on 8 September 2016, garnering negative reviews.
Naam is a 2003 Indian Tamil language drama film written and directed by Sabapathy Dekshinamurthy. The film is produced Prakash Raj, who himself starred in an antagonistic role, while an ensemble cast of newcomers including Jayavarma and Rashmi Murali formed primary roles. The film was released in September 2003 to positive reviews from critics. The film was a remake of Telugu film Aithe.

Padaiveeran (transl. Soldier) is a 2018 Indian Tamil-language drama film written and directed by Dhana. The film stars Vijay Yesudas and debutant Amritha Aiyer, with Bharathiraja and Akhil in supporting roles. The film features music composed by Karthik Raja, editing by Bhuvan Srinivasan, and cinematography by Rajavel Mohan. Padaiveeran was released on 2 February 2018.
Jarugandi is a 2018 Indian Tamil-language action film written and directed by A. N. Pitchumani and co-produced by Nithin Sathya and Badri Kasthuri. The film features Jai, Reba Monica John, and Amit Tiwari in the lead roles, while Daniel Annie Pope, Robo Shankar, Ilavarasu, and Bose Venkat play supporting roles. Ragunanthan and score is by Sabesh–Murali while cinematography is handled by Salai Sagadevan. The film premiered at the 2018 South Asian Short Film Festival which was held in Ooty.
