Pan-American Team Handball Federation

The Pan-American Team Handball Federation (PATHF) is the continental governing body for handball, beach handball, wheelchair handball and snow handball in Americas since 23 May 1977. PATHF includes Northern America, Central America, South America and the Caribbean. PATHF's primary functions is to organize competitions for national teams and clubs, and to conduct Men's World Handball Championship and Women's World Handball Championship qualifying tournaments.

Brazil at the 2015 Pan American Games Sporting event delegation

Brazil competed in 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto, Canada from July 10 to 26, 2015. The Brazilian Olympic Committee selected a team of 590 athletes, 314 men and 276 women. This is the 17th appearance of the country in the Pan American Games. The goal of the Brazilian Olympic Committee is to finish among top 3 countries on total medals, as part of preparations for the 2016 Summer Olympics, in Rio de Janeiro, and to surpass the number of medals of Guadalajara (141). Women's field hockey, baseball, racquetball and speed skating competitions will be the only sports without Brazilian representation at these games.

The 2018 Pan American Men's Handball Championship was the 18th official competition for senior men's national handball teams of North, Central and South America and the Caribbean. It was held from 16 to 24 June 2018 in Nuuk, Greenland. It also acted as the qualifying competition for the 2019 World Men's Handball Championship in Denmark and Germany, securing three vacancies for the World Championship.

Handball competitions at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru, were held from July 24 to August 5. The venue for the competition is the Sports Centre Hall 1 located at the Videna cluster. The venue also hosted judo. A total of eight men's and eight women's teams competed in each tournament. This means a total of 224 athletes are competed.

Wheelchair handball

Wheelchair handball is handball played by people with varying physical disabilities that disqualify them from playing an able-bodied sport. These include spina bifida, birth defects, cerebral palsy, paralysis due to accident, amputations, and many other disabilities. The IHF Wheelchair Handball World Championship (IHF) is the governing body for this sport. It is recognized by the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) as the sole competent authority in wheelchair handball worldwide.

2019 European Wheelchair Handball Nations Tournament 2019 edition of the European Wheelchair Nations’ Tournament

The 2019 EHF European Wheelchair Handball Nations’ Tournament was the 4th edition and was hosted for the first time in Croatia from 14 to 15 December 2019. This was the last European Wheelchair Handball Nations’ Tournament because next year will be held an official European championship. Croatia defeated Portugal to the first title.

The Pan American Women's 7x7 Wheelchair Handball Championship is the official competition for senior national Wheelchair handball teams of Pan America.

The Pan American Women's 4x4 Wheelchair Handball Championship is the official competition for senior national Wheelchair handball teams of Pan America.

The 2014 Pan American Women's 7x7 Wheelchair Handball Championship was the first edition and was hosted for the first time in Argentina from 17 to 20 September 2014.
