Pankaj Saran (born 22 November 1958 [9] ) is a former Indian civil servant of the Indian Foreign Service cadre. He was the Deputy National Security Adviser of India. [10]
Saran holds a B.A. (Honours) degree and Master of Arts degree in economics from the Hindu College and Delhi School of Economics respectively. [3] His interests include tennis,golf,bridge and reading. [3] He is married to Preeti Saran,who also belongs to the Indian Foreign Service. They have two sons. [3]
Pankaj Saran joined the Indian Foreign Service in August 1982. [9] He has served at Indian missions in Moscow,Washington,D.C.,Cairo and Dhaka. [3] He was the Joint Secretary in the Prime Minister's Office,New Delhi from 2007 to 2012. [11]
Saran was the Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh in 2015 when the historic India-Bangladesh Land Boundary Agreement was ratified by the Parliament of India. [12] [13]
On 29 May 2018,Pankaj Saran was appointed by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet as the Deputy National Security Advisor of India and served their till 31 December 2021. [13]
Jyotindra Nath Dixit was an Indian diplomat,who served as Foreign Secretary (1991–1994),the top bureaucrat in the Ministry of External Affairs. In 2022,Ambassador Keshap was elected into membership of the American Academy of Diplomacy. In May 2023,Keshap was named one of Washington's most influential foreign policy influencers for his work to shape U.S. relations with India.
Alexander Mikhailovich Kadakin was a Russian diplomat and the Russian Ambassador to India from 2009 until his death in 2017. Kadakin had earlier served as the ambassador to India between 1999 and 2004. He was a noted Indophile. Kadakin died from heart failure while in service in New Delhi in 2017. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 2018.

Preeti Saran,born 5 September 1958,is an Indian civil servant of the Indian Foreign Service cadre 1982 batch. In December 2018,Saran was elected unopposed to the United Nations Committee on Economic,Social and Cultural Rights for a term from 1 January 2019 to 31 December 2022.
