Eight U-23 teams competed, with Mexico defending its title. The South American teams played with their U-20 teams. For the second time the women's tournament was included in the Pan Am Games.

The tournament was held in Paraguay between 7 January and 28 January 2007. It was the 23rd time the competition has been held and the fourth to take place in Paraguay. Brazil finished undefeated, winning their ninth trophy.

Estadio Nuevo Mirador is the Municipal Stadium of Algeciras, Spain. It is the home stadium of the football club, Algeciras CF. The stadium with a capacity for 7,200 spectators, and measuring 105 by 68 metres, is a modern sports complex located in the industrial area of La Menacha, and also houses the offices of the club. The new stadium was inaugurated in 1999, replacing an earlier stadium which was used from 1954 until 1999.

The 2018–19 Liga Panameña de Fútbol is the 28th season of the Liga Panameña de Fútbol, the top-flight football in Panama. The season began on 17 July 2017 and is scheduled to end in May 2018. Ten teams will complete throughout the entire season.
