Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, also frequently known simply as Saint Vincent, is an Anglo-Caribbean country of several islands in the Lesser Antilles island arc, in the southeast Windward Islands, which lies in the West Indies at the southern end of the eastern border of the Caribbean Sea where the latter meets the Atlantic Ocean.

While Royal Assent and the royal sign-manual are required to enact laws, letters patent, and orders in council, the authority for these acts stems from the Vincentian populace, and, within the conventional stipulations of constitutional monarchy, the sovereign's direct participation in any of these areas of governance is limited, with most related powers entrusted for exercise by the elected and appointed parliamentarians, the ministers of the Crown generally drawn from amongst them, and the judges and Justices of the Peace.
St Vincent & the Grenadines was represented at the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester, England, by a fifteen-member contingent comprising nine sportspersons and six officials. The country's competitors were four competitors in athletics, one squash player, and four table tennis players, while the officials were one "Chef de Mission", one team attaché, one doctor, one team manager, and two head coaches.
