Fishbone is an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1979, that plays a fusion of ska, punk, funk, metal, reggae, and soul. AllMusic has described the group as "one of the most distinctive and eclectic alternative rock bands of the late '80s. With their hyperactive, self-conscious diversity, goofy sense of humor, and sharp social commentary, the group gained a sizable cult following".
Vapor Trails is the seventeenth studio album by Canadian rock band Rush. It was released on May 14, 2002, on Anthem Records, and was their first studio release since Test for Echo (1996), the longest gap between two Rush albums. After the Test For Echo tour finished in July 1997, drummer and lyricist Neil Peart suffered the loss of his daughter and then his wife in separate tragedies. As a result, the group entered an extended hiatus during which it was not certain they would continue. They eventually reunited in January 2001 to rehearse material for a new album, recording for which lasted until December. For the first and only time since Caress of Steel (1975), the group did not use any keyboards or synthesizers in their music, incorporating many layers of guitar, bass and drums instead.
Irresistible Bliss is the second studio album by the American electronic music group Soul Coughing, released in 1996. The band initially planned for Tchad Blake, producer of their first album Ruby Vroom, to produce the album, but the death of a family member in a car accident caused Blake to take a hiatus. Over the objections of his bandmates and his record label, Slash Records/Warner Bros., frontman Mike Doughty hired producer David Kahne ; he was intent on following up the wild sonics of Ruby Vroom with a tightly wound, trembly, New Wave–inspired record.

"Spin Spin Sugar" is a song by English electronic band Sneaker Pimps, released as the fourth single from their debut studio album, Becoming X (1996). The album version is in true Sneaker Pimps style and format; there is a driving bass line produced by a synthesizer keyboard. As the bass drives, there is a second synth loop playing above. Kelli Dayton provides the vocals.
"Purple Line" is Tohoshinki's 16th Japanese single, written by the Korean composer who made Tohoshinki's biggest hits in Korea such as "Rising Sun" and ""O"-Jung.Ban.Hap." It became Tohoshinki's first Japanese single to reach #1 on the Oricon Weekly sales chart in Japan, making the group the first foreign male group or boyband to top the Japanese charts and second Korean artist after BoA to do so. "Purple Line" was Tohoshinki's first single that was originally released in Japanese and later released in Korean as a single. According to the members, the name "Purple Line" refers to the thin rays of light on horizon when the sun sets. Despite being the first #1 single from Tohoshinki, it is not their strongest single in terms of physical sales, with "Break Out!" having the biggest lead in Japan. It was released a week before their third Japanese album T which included the song in its tracks.

Fishbone 101: Nuttasaurusmeg Fossil Fuelin' the Fonkay is a two-CD 1996 compilation album by the alternative/funk/rock band Fishbone. The first disc contains album tracks from the Fishbone albums up to 1993. The second disc contains B-sides, alternate versions, EP tracks, demos, and other non-album items from the same time period. "The Goose" is a previously unreleased cover of the song by the funk band Parliament. The previously unreleased demo track "Alcoholic" was later rerecorded for the 1996 studio album Chim Chim's Badass Revenge. The previously unreleased demo track "Pink Vapor Stew" was later reworked as "Party at Ground Zero" on the debut Fishbone and another demo recording "Game of Destruction" was also reworked as "Pressure" on their third LP The Reality of My Surroundings.
"Eighties" is the lead single from English post-punk band Killing Joke's fifth studio album, Night Time (1985), produced by Chris Kimsey. The song had been premiered during a three track live performance for UK TV show the Tube in December 1983. Upon its release, the single reached No. 60 in the UK Singles Chart.
"Everyday Sunshine" is a song by the alternative rock band Fishbone from their 1991 album The Reality of My Surroundings. A music video was made that featured the band playing the song first in an industrial underground complex before switching to a field on a sunny day.
"Something to Believe In" is a song that was originally released as a single called the "Sire Single Version", and then re-recorded as a song on the Ramones album Animal Boy released in May 1986. There are also live video versions of the song. It was written by Dee Dee Ramone and Jean Beauvoir. The "Sire Single Version" was re-released as track 14 of the second disk of the Ramones Anthology. The song was re-released in 2005 by Rhino/Warner Bros, on the album Weird Tales of the Ramones.
"New Day" is a song by American hip hop recording artist 50 Cent. The song was released on July 27, 2012, originally as a single from his scrapped album Street King Immortal, but it was eventually removed from the project. The song was produced by Dr. Dre and mixed by Eminem, while co-written by the two along with 50 Cent, Alicia Keys, Royce da 5'9", Swizz Beatz, Andrew Brissett, Amber Streeter from RichGirl and Lawrence Jr from Aftermath Records. The song features a verse from Dr. Dre, while the hook is sung by Alicia Keys. Keys also recorded and released her own version of "New Day" which is featured on her fifth album Girl on Fire (2012).
