Fishbone and the Familyhood Nextperience Present: The Psychotic Friends Nuttwerx is an album by alternative rock band Fishbone, released in 2000. [6] [7] It features a large number of special guests and is the only Fishbone album released on Disney's Hollywood Records.
Whereas the band's previous album, the angry Chim Chim's Badass Revenge , contained some of the band's heaviest moments, Psychotic Friends Nuttwerx is full of sunny reggae, ska and pop hooks that make it the most accessible Fishbone album to date. The album has cameos from H.R. of Bad Brains, Gwen Stefani, George Clinton, Rose Stone, Rick James, Flea, John Frusciante and Chad Smith of Red Hot Chili Peppers, Durga McBroom, best known for her work with Pink Floyd, and many others.
While AllMusic called it the band's best album in a decade, [1] it received little support from the band's record label, and Fishbone once again found themselves without a record deal.
"Where'd You Get Those Pants?" uses the same melody as "Weed Plant," another Fishbone song.
LA Weekly called the album "a funk-o-ramic magnum opus." [8] The Chicago Reader wrote that the "jittery, giggly, and thoroughly funky comeback attempt ranges from painstaking old-fashioned hand-constructed R & B to slinky reggae to a loving but violent mangling of Sly & the Family Stone's 'Everybody Is a Star.'" Mother's Milk is the fourth studio album by American rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers, released on August 16, 1989 by EMI Records. After the death of founding guitarist Hillel Slovak and the subsequent departure of drummer Jack Irons, vocalist Anthony Kiedis and bassist Flea regrouped with the addition of guitarist John Frusciante and drummer Chad Smith. Frusciante's influence altered the band's sound by placing more emphasis on melody than rhythm, which had dominated the band's previous material. Returning producer Michael Beinhorn favored heavy metal guitar riffs as well as overdubbing. Frusciante perceived Beinhorn's taste as excessive, and as a result, the two constantly fought over the album's guitar sound.
The Red Hot Chili Peppers is the debut studio album by American rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers, released on August 10, 1984, via EMI America and Enigma Records. The album was produced by Gang of Four guitarist Andy Gill, and is the only Peppers album to feature Jack Sherman on guitar. Sherman was in the band as a replacement for founding member Hillel Slovak, who'd left the band along with founding drummer Jack Irons before the album was recorded. After the tour for this album, Sherman was fired and Slovak rejoined the band. The album also features founding members Anthony Kiedis on vocals and Flea on bass, as well as Cliff Martinez on drums.

"Show Me Your Soul" is a song by the funk rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers that was recorded in 1989 and produced by John Norwood Fisher of Fishbone and features Billy Preston on keyboard. It was not, as is commonly believed, recorded during the Mother's Milk sessions. However, it was recorded during the first part of the Mother's Milk tour. "Show Me Your Soul" was recorded for the soundtrack of the film Pretty Woman, and was shortly after released as the B-side to "Taste the Pain" in the US and UK. In Australia, it appeared as the B-side to the belated 1990 release of "Knock Me Down". Both singles credit the song as coming from the Pretty Woman soundtrack. A promo only single was released to promote the soundtrack and it is thought that it was meant to be a full single until a last minute change of plan. This peaked at number ten on the Modern Rock Tracks chart. The track was later included as the sole exclusive track on the 1992 compilation album What Hits!?.
