Angelo Christopher Moore (born November 5, 1965) is an American musician, best known for his work as lead singer and saxophonist for the Los Angeles ska and funk metal band Fishbone. Moore also performs and records under the stage name Dr. MadVibe, has recorded with the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jane's Addiction, [1] Murphy's Law, Gwen Stefani, Everlast, Goldfinger, and Bad Brains and has played over 3300 shows in his career. [1] Angelo currently resides in Woodland Hills, CA.

Biography

Moore grew up in Southern California's San Fernando Valley [2] and attended Platt Ranch Elementary School, followed by Hale Junior High School in Woodland Hills, [3] where he met the other members of Fishbone's original lineup. [4] Moore's father William George Moore was an English teacher and speech pathologist and played saxophone for Count Basie, [5] and his mother Dazireen Daretta Johnson was an English teacher for the Los Angeles unified school district. From an early age, his parents exposed him to jazz, soul, blues and funk music. [6] He then attended El Camino Real High School in Woodland Hills. [7] He later attended Pierce College of Woodland Hills, before discontinuing in order to perform with Fishbone.


In addition to his regular duties with Fishbone, in 1993 Moore released a poetry anthology titled Dr. Madd Vibe's Comprehensive Linkology. He also did a monologue on a live version of the Tool song "Bottom" in Grenoble, France. In 1997 he released his first solo CD, also titled Dr. Madd Vibe's Comprehensive Linkology, [8] as well as his first video titled The Delusional Quandaries Of Dr. Madd Vibe. [9] In 2000 Moore released another CD/video set titled The Yin-Yang Thang, and in 2006 he released the CD Dr. Madd Vibe's Medicine Cabinet. In 2010, Moore released "The Angelo Show", funded by a kickstarter campaign. [10] Moore also made a cameo appearance as the bandleader in the movie Idlewild , featuring Outkast members Big Boi and Andre 3000. [11] On June 26, 2012, Angelo Moore and the Rondo Brothers released the single "Brand New Step" under Ninth Street Opus record label. [12]

In 2020, Angelo achieved sobriety and currently maintains it, and in addition created a Patreon site featuring pieces such as "The Mirror of What" and "Story Time Theater". [13] In July 2021 he played the role of Manager in the music video for "Holier than Thou", a Metallica cover song by Off!. [14]

In 2022, Moore participated in the "Celebrating David Bowie" tour, featuring Adrian Belew, Todd Rundgren, and others. [15] [16]

In 2023, Moore became an entrepreneur in creating Dr. MadVibe's Underground Railroad, [17] and has been performing with Dr. MadVibe and the Missin' Links, [18] [19] playing alongside past and current members of Fishbone. [20] Moore has also created a Dr. MadVibe orchestra with whom he has directed and performed in venues in the United States and in Europe. [19] In addition, he has also been performing with the New York City band Butterbrain, contributing vocals to the song Sapio Soirée [21] and is currently producing their second full-length album.

Still Stuck in Your Throat is a 2006 studio album by Fishbone, and their most recent full-length release to date, released in Europe on October 16, 2006, and in the United States on April 24, 2007. Fishbone 101: Nuttasaurusmeg Fossil Fuelin' the Fonkay is a two-CD 1996 compilation album by the alternative/funk/rock band Fishbone. The first disc contains album tracks from the Fishbone albums up to 1993. The second disc contains B-sides, alternate versions, EP tracks, demos, and other non-album items from the same time period. "The Goose" is a previously unreleased cover of the song by the funk band Parliament. The previously unreleased demo track "Alcoholic" was later rerecorded for the 1996 studio album Chim Chim's Badass Revenge. The previously unreleased demo track "Pink Vapor Stew" was later reworked as "Party at Ground Zero" on the debut Fishbone and another demo recording "Game of Destruction" was also reworked as "Pressure" on their third LP The Reality of My Surroundings.

Lonnie "Meganut" Marshall is an American bass player, singer, and songwriter from South Central Los Angeles. He is best known as the frontman and founder of Weapon of Choice, and is the inventor of the Nutmeg Potty Plunger.
