Pasay Harbor City is a reclaimed area on Manila Bay. It is under the jurisdiction of Pasay, Philippines.

Background

The Pasay City Government entered into a contractual Joint Venture Agreement (JWA) with Pasay Harbor City Corporation (PHCC), a special purpose corporation that will engage in a 265-hectare (650-acre) land reclamation on the municipal waters of the city. [1] It was approved by the Philippine Competition Commission on September 2019. [1] [2]

Pasay Harbor City Corporation is a partnership composed of Udenna Development Corporation, Ulticon Builders Inc., and China Harbour Engineering Company. [1] [2]

Development

The proposed reclamation project, called the Pasay Harbour Reclamation Project, encompasses 265 hectares (650 acres), including two (2) islands with respective areas of 210 hectares (520 acres) for Island A and 55 hectares (140 acres) for Island.

Construction

As of July 19, 2022, about 117 hectares (290 acres) of land has been reclaimed. Horizontal developments, including roads, bridges, power, water, drainage, sewerage, communications and other utilities and facilities are targeted to be completed on 2028. [3]

Royal Boskalis Westminster N.V. was in-charge of the dredging and land reclamation environment, after the proponents of Pasay Harbor City dropped their Chinese partner. [4]

The Makati Intra-city Subway or (MkTr) is an under-construction underground rapid transit line to be located in Makati, Metro Manila, that will link establishments across the city's business district. It will be built under a public-private partnership program between the Makati City Government and a private consortium, led by Philippine Infradev Holdings. Proponents of the subway are expected to begin construction by December 2018, and Makati Mayor Abigail Binay projects completion by 2025. The subway will cost $2.5 billion and is expected to accommodate 700,000 passengers daily. It will also have nine stations, with connections to the existing MRT Line 3, Pasig River Ferry Service, and the under-construction Metro Manila Subway.

Horizon Manila is an upcoming mixed-use planned community to be built on a 419-hectare reclaimed land in Manila Bay. It has been described as the biggest reclamation project in Manila, Philippines. Horizon Manila will be composed of three islands: Island 1, Island 2 and Island 3. The project was approved by the Philippine Reclamation Authority in 2019 and construction will begin in the second half of 2023.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Land reclamation in Metro Manila</span>

The reclamation of land from the surrounding waters of Metro Manila is used to expand the region's limited area of usable and natural land. There are about 25 projects that aims to reclaim more than 10,000 hectares (100 km2) of land in Manila Bay from the city of Navotas to the province of Cavite. Reclamation projects have been met with opposition and criticism, especially from environmental groups.

Manila Solar City(also known as Solar City Manila) is an under-construction mixed-used development to be built on a 148 hectare reclaimed land in Manila Bay adjacent to the north of the Cultural Center of the Philippines Complex and west of the Manila Yacht Club. It will be developed by the consortium of the Manila Goldcoast Development Corporation and the City of Manila.

The Navotas Boulevard Business Park is an under-construction commercial and business center in Navotas. It will rise on 650-hectare (6.5 km2) reclaimed land, and has been under-construction since 2019. The development is envisioned to create a mixed-use community with residential, institutional, commercial and industrial areas suitable for port facilities, marine and tourism. Its master plan was designed by Surbana Jurong.

Manila Waterfront City is an under-construction land reclamation that is envisioned to be the financial center of the Manila, Philippines. At 318 hectares, it is the second largest land reclamation project in the city after Horizon Manila. It is a joint-venture between the Manila City Government and Waterfront Manila Premier Development Inc. (WMPDI).
