Family and early life
McCutcheon was born and raised in the small New South Wales farming town of Narromine. He was educated at St. Joseph's College in Sydney, and he played in the Australian Schoolboys Rugby team in 2005. [3] His brother Lachlan McCutcheon also represented Australia as a schoolboy, but did not gain representative honours at a senior level. [4]
McCutcheon is married to Skye McCutcheon. He served as an ambassador for the Raise Foundation and Cure Brain Cancer Foundation, [5] and is completing a program of Bachelor of Spatial Science and Surveying. [1]
McCutcheon played for the Australian Under 19 team in 2006, and was selected for the Australian sevens team in 2007. [6]
Rugby career
McCutcheon made his debut for the Waratahs against the New Zealand Super 14 rugby team, the Otago Highlanders, in the 2010 Super 14 rugby season, as a flanker. [3]
In October 2010, he was a member of the Australia Sevens Rugby Union team to win the silver medal at the 2010 Commonwealth Games taking place in Delhi, India. Australia lost to New Zealand in a closely fought final contest. He was appointed as captain of the Australian Sevens team for the 2009/10 IRB Series. [3] McCutcheon toured Hong Kong and Europe with the Wallabies at the end of 2010, but did not play a Test. [7]
In 2012, he broke his ankle in round three of Super Rugby, playing for the Waratahs against the Highlanders in Dunedin, ending his season. [8] Later in November 2015 he had a hamstring injury that took him out of competitions until April 2016. [5]
Rugby union in Australia has a history of organised competition dating back to the late 1860s. Although traditionally most popular in Australia's rugby football strongholds of New South Wales, Queensland and the ACT, it is played throughout the nation.
Rocky Elsom is an Australian former rugby union player. He played the positions of flanker and number eight. He was selected for 75 caps for Australia. He is the most capped Australian blindside flanker. Elsom was the 76th Australian test captain, having replaced Stirling Mortlock in 2009 for two years. He played for the Wallabies from 2005 until 2011. Elsom played professionally for New South Wales, Brumbies and Leinster.
Daniel Joseph Vickerman was a professional rugby union player. The 204 cm, 119 kg lock played 63 Tests with the Wallabies, the national team of his adopted country of Australia. After seven seasons with the Wallabies, and having played Super Rugby for the New South Wales Waratahs and ACT Brumbies, Vickerman left his successful international rugby career in 2008. He attended the University of Cambridge, where he read a degree in Land Economy at Hughes Hall. While in England, he played rugby for Cambridge University and Northampton Saints. In 2011, he returned to Australia and played again for the Wallabies, including at the 2011 Rugby World Cup, before he retired from the game.
Benn Robinson is a former Australian professional rugby union footballer. He played as a loosehead prop for the New South Wales Waratahs in the Super Rugby and for Australia in international matches.
Pat McCabe is a former professional Australian rugby union player, now practising lawyer. He played for the Brumbies in the Super Rugby, and Warringah in Sydney, and represented Australia at various age grade levels before a senior debut in 2010. He was a utility player, able to cover inside centre, outside centre, winger or fullback.
Kurtley James Beale is an Australian professional rugby union representative player who has made over 90 national representative appearances in a ten-year playing career at the world-class level. He is of Aboriginal descent, has had a long Super Rugby career with the New South Wales Waratahs and has played for the Melbourne Rebels and the Wasps club in England. Beale usually plays at full-back or centre but can play fly-half or winger. In 2011 Beale received the John Eales Medal, awarded to Australian rugby's Player of the Year.
Quade Santini Cooper is a professional rugby union player and occasional boxer. Although born in New Zealand, he has represented Australia in rugby at international level. He currently plays for Hanazono Liners in Japan, and is a former player for the Queensland Reds and the Melbourne Rebels in the Super Rugby competition in Australia. His preferred position is fly-half.
Lachlan 'Lachie' David Turner is an Australian professional rugby union player who retired at the end of 2018 season. In his usual position of wing. He has a strong kicking game, which allows him to also play at fullback.
Sekope Kepu is an Australian professional rugby union player. He is a prop and currently plays for Moana Pasifika in Super Rugby. He has previously played for Australian club New South Wales Waratahs, the French club Bordeaux, and London Irish. He also plays for Australia's Wallabies in international matches. Kepu made his international debut for Australia in 2008 and has been a regular in match-day squads ever since, now having played over 100 tests. Kepu is the most-capped prop to ever play for the Wallabies and is also one of the most-capped rugby players in history.
Ben Mowen is an Australian former professional rugby union player. He was the captain of the Australia national team and also the ACT Brumbies team in Super Rugby. He played at blindside flanker or number-eight.
Rugby union in Victoria describes the sport of rugby union being played and watched in the state of Victoria in Australia. The code was first introduced some time between the 1850s and 1880s but remained a minor sport played primarily in the private schools and amongst interstate expats. This has changed, particularly since the professionalisation of the game in the mid 1990s.

His usual position was tighthead prop.
Christian Pharaoh Leali'ifano is a professional rugby union player who plays as a fly-half for Super Rugby club Moana Pasifika. Born in New Zealand, he represents Samoa at international level after qualifying on ancestry grounds, having previously played over twenty-five times for Australia between 2013 and 2019.
Tom Kingston is an Australian professional rugby footballer. His usual position is outside centre or wing. He signed on to play for the Melbourne Rebels in 2014.
Bernard Foley is an Australian rugby player of Irish descent. He plays professionally for the Australia national rugby team and the New South Wales Waratahs in Super Rugby. He can cover both fullback and fly-half as well as inside centre. Foley has earned the nickname "the iceman" after successful game winning penalty goals, 2 August 2014, 18 October 2015.
Michael Kent Hooper is an Australian professional rugby union player who is the former captain of the Australia national team, the Wallabies. His primary position is openside flanker.
Taqele Naiyaravoro is an Australian professional rugby union and rugby league footballer. His regular playing position is the wing.
Jack Debreczeni is a New Zealand rugby union player who currently plays as a fly half for the ACT Brumbies in the Super Rugby Pacific competition.
Corey Toole is an Australian rugby union and rugby sevens player. He plays domestically with the Brumbies in the Super Rugby. From Wagga Wagga, New South Wales, Toole played for Wagga Waratahs Rugby Club and the Gungahlin Eagles before joining the Brumbies Academy. Toole has also represented the ACT Schoolboys at Nationals.
