Patriot Brains is a New Zealand comedy panel game show, airing on TVNZ 2 in New Zealand and SBS Viceland in Australia since April 2021.

Premise

The show, hosted by English comedian Bill Bailey in series 1 and Sue Perkins in series 2, [1] [2] focuses on the trans-Tasman rivalry by pitting two teams of three comics from Australia and New Zealand against each other. [3] [4] [5] The host asks the teams a series of general knowledge questions about their respective countries from a revolving pool of categories. [6] [7]

Production

New Zealand production company thedownlowconcept produces the series, which receives funding from NZ On Air. [8]

Broadcast

The first series of Patriot Brains aired in early 2021 in Australia and New Zealand, and the second series was broadcast in February 2023 in New Zealand.[ citation needed ]

It was formed in 2002 by Jarrod Holt, Ryan Hutchings and Nigel McCulloch, and have since frequently collaborated with actor and comedian Josh Thomson. They are notable for their quirky, irreverent, and sometimes controversial comedic style.

Iain Phillip Stables is a New Zealand TV and Radio personality. The Great Kiwi Bake Off is a New Zealand television baking competition based on The Great British Bake Off in which 12 amateur bakers compete in a series of baking challenges. The show's first episode was aired on 16 October 2018 on TVNZ 2. The show is hosted by Hayley Sproull and Madeleine Sami, with judges Dean Brettschneider and Sue Fleischl.
