Pawan Kalyan is an Indian actor, martial artist, stunt coordinator, playback singer, choreographer, film director, screenwriter, film producer, narrator, philanthropist and politician works in Telugu cinema. He is currently serving as the 10th deputy chief minister of Andhra Pradesh since June 2024.

Pawan Kalyan made his acting debut in the 1996 film Akkada Ammayi Ikkada Abbayi . His next four films were all box-office successes Gokulamlo Seeta (1997), Suswagatham (1998), Tholi Prema (1998), and Thammudu (1999). [1] His subsequent films Puri Jagannadh's Badri (2000) and S. J. Suryah's Kushi (2001) were major box office successes. [2] [3]

Kalyan made his directorial debut with Johnny (2003), which was a box office failure. [4] He followed this with a string of underperforming films: Gudumba Shankar (2004), [5] Balu (2005), [6] Bangaram (2006), [7] and Annavaram (2006). [8] After a gap, the film Jalsa (2008) directed by Trivikram Srinivas became a box office success. [9] He collaborated with Suryah again for Puli (2010), which was a box office debacle. [10] Teen Maar (2010) and Panjaa (2011) were released to mixed reviews. [11] [12]

The film Gabbar Singh (2012) was released to positive reviews and was a blockbuster at the box office, marking his comeback after three back-to -back failures. [13] Kalyan's second film with Puri Jagannadh was Cameraman Gangatho Rambabu (2012), which was released to above average reviews. [14] Trivikram Srinivas's Attarintiki Daredi (2013) became the highest grossing Telugu film of all time surpassing Magadheera (2009). [15]

Gopala Gopala (2015) co-starring Venkatesh was a success while Sardaar Gabbar Singh , [16] Katamarayudu , [17] and Agnyaathavaasi received negative reviews. [18] [19] Vakeel Saab (2021), the masala-laced adaptation of the courtroom drama Pink (2016), received positive reviews. [20] His next film, Bheemla Nayak (2022), was successful and ended up becoming the fourth highest-grossing Telugu film of 2022.

Balu: ABCDEFG is a 2005 Indian Telugu-language action drama film written and directed by A. Karunakaran. The film stars Pawan Kalyan, Shriya, Neha Oberoi and Gulshan Grover. The film was produced by C. Aswini Dutt under his production company Vyjayanthi Movies. Its tagline ABCDEFG stands for "A Boy Can Do Everything For Girl." The film released on 6 January 2005 to mixed reviews and was an average grosser at the box office. It was the first Telugu film to have a release in South Africa.

Gudumba Shankar is a 2004 Indian Telugu-language action comedy film directed by Veera Shankar and produced by Nagendra Babu under Anjana Productions banner. Pawan Kalyan plays the title role, wrote the screenplay, and choreographed three songs and the action scenes. The film also stars Meera Jasmine and Ashish Vidyarthi while Sayaji Shinde, Brahmanandam, and Ali play supporting roles. The music was scored by Mani Sharma with cinematography by Chota K. Naidu.

Kushi is a 2001 Indian Telugu-language romantic comedy film written and directed by S. J. Suryah, and produced by A. M. Rathnam. The film stars Pawan Kalyan and Bhumika. Mani Sharma provided the score and soundtrack. Pawan Kalyan also choreographed all the action sequences in the film. Initially begun in 1999 as a bilingual along with its Tamil version, also titled Kushi (2000), the Telugu version was delayed due to Kalyan's prior commitment to Badri (2000).

Badri is a 2000 Indian Telugu-language romantic action film written and directed by Puri Jagannadh in his directorial debut. The film stars Pawan Kalyan, Amisha Patel, Renu Desai and Prakash Raj. This film marks the South Indian debut of Amisha Patel. The film's music was composed by Ramana Gogula, which marks his second collaboration with Pawan Kalyan after Thammudu (1999).

Gabbar Singh is a 2012 Indian Telugu-language action film directed by Harish Shankar. The film stars Pawan Kalyan and Shruti Haasan. Devi Sri Prasad composed the film's music and Jayanan Vincent was the cinematographer.The plot follows Venkataratnam Naidu, a police officer who, inspired by a film character, adopts the name Gabbar Singh. Posted in a village, he faces off against a local thug aspiring to join politics who manipulates his half-brother. Gabbar Singh embarks on a mission to dismantle the thug's corrupt political ambitions and restore justice.

The film stars Pawan Kalyan, Sarah-Jane Dias, Anjali Lavania, Jackie Shroff, Adivi Sesh, Atul Kulkarni, Sampath Raj, Subbaraju and Tanikella Bharani. The plot centers around Jai, a loyal henchman for a gangster, who is forced to go on the run after a botched mission leads him to kill his boss's son in response to a violent atrocity.

Cameraman Gangatho Rambabu is a 2012 Indian Telugu-language political action film written and directed by Puri Jagannadh. The film stars Pawan Kalyan, Tamannaah Bhatia, and Gabriela Bertante, Prakash Raj and Kota Srinivasa Rao. Mani Sharma composed the soundtrack and background score, while Shyam K. Naidu and S. R. Shekhar handled the cinematography and editing. It was the second collaboration between Pawan and Puri after 12 years since Badri (2000).

Produced by Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra and Reliance Entertainment, the film stars Pawan Kalyan, Samantha and Pranitha Subhash. Nadhiya, Boman Irani and Brahmanandam feature in supporting roles. The film score and soundtrack album were composed by Devi Sri Prasad. Prasad Murella was the cinematographer.

Attarintiki Daredi is the feature film soundtrack of the 2013 film of the same name directed by Trivikram Srinivas starring Pawan Kalyan. The film's music and background score were composed by Devi Sri Prasad marking his immediate collaboration with Pawan Kalyan and Trivikram Srinivas Individually. The soundtrack consists of 6 songs and a bit song all composed by Devi Sri Prasad and Ramajogayya Sastry, Sri Mani and himself penning the lyrics. The album's release coincided with a promotional audio launch function on 19 July 2013 at Shilpakala Vedika in Hyderabad under high security arrangements on Aditya Music label.

Gopala Gopala is a 2015 Indian Telugu-language satirical comedy drama film directed by Kishore Kumar Pardasani. The film is produced by D. Suresh Babu and Sharrath Marar under the Suresh Productions and North Star Entertainment banners. It stars Venkatesh, Pawan Kalyan, Shriya Saran, and Mithun Chakraborty while Ashish Vidyarthi and Posani Krishna Murali play supporting roles. The film is a remake of the 2012 Hindi film OMG – Oh My God! which was itself based on the Gujarati stage play Kanji Viruddh Kanji which is in turn inspired from 2001 Australian film The Man Who Sued God.

<i>Sardaar Gabbar Singh</i> 2016 film directed by K. S. Ravindra

Sardaar Gabbar Singh is a 2016 Indian Telugu-language action comedy film co-written and directed by K. S. Ravindra, based on an original story by Pawan Kalyan. A sequel to Gabbar Singh (2012), it stars Pawan Kalyan reprising his role from the previous film alongside Kajal Aggarwal and Sharad Kelkar. In the film, brave policeman Gabbar Singh (Kalyan) rescues the residents of Rathanpur when they are forced to face the wrath of Bhairav Singh (Kelkar), who unceremoniously usurps their land.

Suryadevara Radha Krishna, also known as S. Radha Krishna or Chinna Babu, is an Indian film producer known for his works in Telugu cinema. He produces films under his production house, Haarika & Hassine Creations. Even though his other production house, Sithara Entertainments, is his own, his nephew, Suryadevara Naga Vamsi, mainly produces the films under the banner, while he presents them.

Katamarayudu is a 2017 Indian Telugu-language action drama film directed by Kishore Kumar Pardasani. It is a remake of the 2016 Hindi-language film Pink and stars Pawan Kalyan, Nivetha Thomas, Anjali, Ananya Nagalla, Prakash Raj, and Shruti Haasan. The film features score and soundtrack by S. Gabbar Singh is the soundtrack to the film of the same name directed by Harish Shankar and produced by Bandla Ganesh's Parameswara Art Productions starring Pawan Kalyan. The soundtrack to the film featured six songs composed by Devi Sri Prasad with lyrics written by Ramajogayya Sastry, Chandrabose, Sahithi, Bhaskarabhatla and Prasad himself. The soundtrack was released on 15 April 2012 through the Aditya Music label.
