Pawan Kalyan is an Indian actor, screenwriter, stunt coordinator, philanthropist and politician. His film works are predominantly in Telugu cinema. He is the youngest brother of popular actor Chiranjeevi. Pawan Kalyan made his acting debut in the 1996 Telugu film Akkada Ammayi Ikkada Abbayi . His next four films were all box-office successes namely Gokulamlo Seeta (1997), Suswagatham (1998), Tholi Prema (1998), and Thammudu (1999). [1] Kalyan's subsequent films Puri Jagannadh's Badri (2000) and S. J. Suryah's Kushi (2001) were box office successes. [2] [3] He made his directorial debut with Johnny (2003), which was a box office failure. [4] He followed this with a string of failures: Gudumba Shankar (2004), [5] Balu (2005), [6] Bangaram (2006), [7] and Annavaram (2006). [8] After a gap, the film Jalsa (2008) directed by Trivikram Srinivas became a box office success. [9] He collaboarated with Suryah again for Puli (2010), which was a box office debacle. [10] Teen Maar (2010) and Panjaa (2011) released to mixed reviews. [11] [12] The film Gabbar Singh (2012) released to positive reviews and was a blockbuster at the box office, marking his comeback after three back to back failures. [13] Kalyan's second film with Puri Jaganaadh was Cameraman Gangatho Rambabu (2012), which released to above average reviews. [14] Trivikram Srinivas's Attarintiki Daredi (2013) was an industry hit and got him back to the highest level, yet again. [15] His film Gopala Gopala (2015) with Venkatesh was a moderate success while Sardaar Gabbar Singh , [16] Katamarayudu , [17] and Trivikram Srinivas's Agnyaathavaasi received negative reviews. [18] [19] Vakeel Saab (2021), the masala-laced adaptation of the courtroom drama Pink (2016), received positive reviews. [20] His next film, Bheemla Nayak (2022), was a blockbuster and ended up becoming the fourth highest-grossing Telugu film of 2022.

Pawan Kalyan plays the title role in addition to writing the screenplay. The film also stars Meera Jasmine and Ashish Vidyarthi while Sayaji Shinde, Brahmanandam and Ali play supporting roles. The music was scored by Mani Sharma with cinematography by Chota K. Naidu. The film was an average grosser at the box office.

Gabbar Singh is a 2012 Indian Telugu-language action comedy film directed by Harish Shankar. The film is inspired from the 2010 Hindi film Dabangg and stars Pawan Kalyan and Shruti Haasan. The plot follows a police officer who embarks on a mission to take down a corrupt politician. Devi Sri Prasad composed the film's music and Jayanan Vincent was the cinematographer. Inspired by a film character, Venkataratnam, a policeman, calls himself Gabbar Singh. He is posted in a village where a local thug wants to join politics and also lures his stepbrother to join him.

Cameraman Gangatho Rambabu is a 2012 Indian Telugu-language political action film written and directed by Puri Jagannadh. The film stars Pawan Kalyan, Tamannaah Bhatia, and Gabriela Bertante, Prakash Raj and Kota Srinivasa Rao. Mani Sharma composed the soundtrack and background score, while Shyam K. Naidu and S. R. Shekhar handled the cinematography and editing. It was the second collaboration between Kalyan and Jagannadh after 12 years since Badri (2000).

The film's music and background score were composed by Devi Sri Prasad marking his immediate collaboration with Pawan Kalyan and Trivikram Srinivas Individually. The soundtrack consists of 6 songs and a bit song all composed by Devi Sri Prasad and Ramajogayya Sastry, Sri Mani and himself penning the lyrics. The album's release coincided with a promotional audio launch function on 19 July 2013 at Shilpakala Vedika in Hyderabad under high security arrangements on Aditya Music label.

Sardaar Gabbar Singh is a 2016 Indian Telugu-language action comedy film directed by K. S. Ravindra, based on an original story and screenplay by Pawan Kalyan. A sequel to Gabbar Singh (2012), it stars Pawan Kalyan reprising his role from the previous film alongside Kajal Aggarwal and Sharad Kelkar. In the film, brave policeman Gabbar Singh (Kalyan) rescues the residents of Rathanpur when they are forced to face the wrath of Bhairav Singh (Kelkar), who unceremoniously usurps their land.

Gabbar Singh is the soundtrack to the film of the same name directed by Harish Shankar and produced by Bandla Ganesh's Parameswara Art Productions starring Pawan Kalyan. The soundtrack to the film featured six songs composed by Devi Sri Prasad with lyrics written by Ramajogayya Sastry, Chandrabose, Sahithi, Bhaskarabhatla and Prasad himself. The soundtrack was released on 15 April 2012 through the Aditya Music label.
