People's Destiny Party

The The People's Destiny Party is a Ghanaian political party. It is one of the parties registered with the Electoral Commission of Ghana to contest elections. [1] The party is not represented in the contest for President of Ghana in the 2020 Ghanaian general election. [2] It's logo shows a white lamb on a circular background. The upper half of the circle is black and the lower half green. Below the circle is written the name of the party in capitals. [3]

Electoral Commission of Ghana Electoral Commission

The Electoral Commission of Ghana is the official body in Ghana responsible for all public elections. Made up of seven members, its independence is guaranteed by the 1992 Ghana constitution. The current commission was established by the Electoral Commission Act of 1993. Kwadwo Afari-Gyan was the first substantive Chairman of the Commission from 1993-2015. On December 5, 2018, the Electoral commission chaired by Jean Adukwei Mensah reverted to the old logo Eagles with coat of arms after the controversy over the new logo

The Independent People's Party was a political party in Ghana. Its leader was Kofi Percival Akpaloo, a Managing Principal for Doveson Lovell & Co. Its offices are based at Kumasi, the capital of the Ashanti Region of Ghana. The party's emblem was a computer and its motto was "putting people's lives first through technology". It never had any seats in the Parliament of Ghana. The party sought to gain seats in the 2012 Ghanaian general election of December 2012 but failed to do so. Akpaloo filed to contest in the 2016 Ghanaian general election but was one of thirteen candidates who were disqualified by the Electoral Commission.

Akwasi Addai Odike is a Ghanaian businessman and politician.

2016 Ghanaian general election

General elections were held in Ghana on 7 December 2016 to elect a President and Members of Parliament. They had originally been scheduled for 7 November 2016, but the date was later rejected by Parliament. Former foreign minister Nana Akufo-Addo of the opposition New Patriotic Party was elected President on his third attempt, defeating incumbent President John Mahama of the National Democratic Congress.

Freda Akosua Oheneafrewo Prempeh is a Ghanaian politician, and Member of Parliament for Tano North Constituency in the Ahafo Region, Ghana. She's currently the Deputy Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Ghana. She previously served as the Assembly member - "Assembly Woman" from 2002 to 2010 for the Lakoo Electoral Area of the La-Dadekotopo Constituency in the Greater Accra Region.

The Ghana Freedom Party is a party founded by Akua Donkor, a farmer. This was largely to help her ambitions to become President of Ghana. She was disqualified by the Electoral Commission of Ghana from contesting the Ghanaian presidential election, 2012 as an independent candidate. This was due to irregularities on the registration documents for the election. Akua Donkor who was this time the party's candidate for the Ghanaian presidential election, 2016 was again disqualified in October 2016. Akua Donkor hopes to be the party's candidate for the Ghanaian presidential election in 2020. She appeared to back the incumbent President at the time, John Mahama when her candidacy was rejected by the Electoral Commission. The party headquarters was sited at Kabu ,, which is a village in the Akwapim North Municipality of the Eastern Region of Ghana. This was gutted by fire in January 2016.

2020 Ghanaian general election Ghanaian general election

General elections were held in Ghana on 7 December 2020. Incumbent President Nana Akufo-Addo of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) was re-elected in the first round after securing a majority of the votes.

Percival Kofi Akpaloo is a Ghanaian politician. He is the leader of the Liberal Party of Ghana. He is also the party's presidential candidate for the 2020 Ghanaian general election.

David Asibi Ayindenaba Apasera is a Ghanaian politician. He was the presidential candidate for the People's National Convention (PNC) in the 2020 Ghanaian general election. He was member of parliament for Bolgatanga in the Upper West Region of Ghana between 2001 and 2009.

The United Progressive Party is a political party in Ghana. Its founders were Akwasi Addai Odike and Razak Kojo Opoku. It received its final certificate of registration from the Electoral Commission of Ghana in May 2015.

The Reformed Patriotic Democrats is a political party in Ghana. It was founded in 2004 and registered with the Electoral Commission of Ghana in 2008. Although it was not involved with the 2020 Ghanaian general election, it is still listed on the website of the Commission as a registered party.

The United Renaissance Party is a Ghanaian political party registered with the Electoral Commission of Ghana. It was founded in 2007. Its first leader was Kofi Wayo.
