The Oregon Legislative Assembly is the state legislature for the U.S. state of Oregon. The Legislative Assembly is bicameral,consisting of an upper and lower house:the Senate,whose 30 members are elected to serve four-year terms;and the House of Representatives,with 60 members elected to two-year terms. There are no term limits for either house in the Legislative Assembly.
The Oregon State Senate is the upper house of the statewide legislature for the US state of Oregon. Along with the lower chamber Oregon House of Representatives it makes up the Oregon Legislative Assembly. There are 30 members of the state Senate,representing 30 districts across the state,each with a population of 141,242. The state Senate meets in the east wing of the Oregon State Capitol in Salem.
Floyd Prozanski is an American Democratic politician who is a current member of the Oregon State Senate,representing the 4th District,since 2004. He previously served in the Oregon House of Representatives,from 1995 through 2000 and again for the 2003 session. He resigned from the House in December 2003 to accept appointment to the Senate seat that had been vacated by Tony Corcoran. He won election to the seat in November 2004.
Bruce Starr is an American politician and businessman in Oregon. A Republican,he served two terms in the Oregon House of Representatives before winning election to the Oregon State Senate in 2002. There he joined his father Senator Charles Starr and they became the first father-son team to serve at the same time in Oregon's Senate. Bruce had previously been a member of the Hillsboro City Council,and was re-elected to the Senate in 2006 and 2010,but lost a bid in 2012 to be the Oregon Labor Commissioner.

Before his election,he was the leader of the political group Oregonians In Action. He is part of the second father-son tandem to serve in the Oregon Senate.

He served twelve years in the Oregon Legislative Assembly,representing Multnomah County in the Oregon House of Representatives and then the Oregon State Senate.

Musa was an American politician who served four terms in the Oregon State Senate between 1949 and 1968,including serving as President of the Oregon Senate during the 1963–1964 legislative term. A CPA,he was a conservative Democrat from a rural district,known for his ability to work with Republicans as well as fellow Democrats in the state senate. Musa ran for governor in 1966,but lost the Democratic primary to Robert W. Straub.

A conservative Democrat from a rural district,Overhulse was known for his ability to work with Republicans as well as fellow Democrats in the state legislature. He was elected President of the Oregon Senate eleven days after taking his seat in the state senate,the first Democrat elected to that position in 79 years.
Jay Hollister Upton was an American politician and attorney from the state of Oregon. He was a conservative Republican who served two years in the Oregon House of Representatives;and later,fourteen years in the Oregon State Senate. In the senate,Upton represented a large rural district in eastern Oregon. He served as President of the Oregon Senate during the 1923 legislative session. Upton ran for Governor of Oregon and for the United States Congress from Oregon's 2nd congressional district,but lost both of those elections.
Oregon's Emergency Board is a statutory legislative committee composed of members of both houses of the Oregon Legislative Assembly. It has broad powers to allocate general fund resources,lottery revenue,and other state funds for unanticipated government requirements when the state legislature is not in session. The board can authorize an agency to overspend its approved budget or approve a new budget amount for specific agency tasks. It can also authorize the transfers of funds between agencies or budget accounts. The Emergency Board is jointly chaired by the President of the Oregon Senate and the Speaker of the Oregon House of Representatives.

Adams was a conservative Republican who represented two Southern Oregon counties in the state senate. He was President of the Oregon State Senate during the 1997 and 1999 legislative sessions. During his time in the legislature,Adams was known for his ability to work with the state's Democratic governor as well as his peers in the state legislature. Over the years,he also served on the board of directors for more than 20 non-profit organizations.
John Crosthwaite Carson was an American wood products manufacturer,building contractor,and politician from Portland,Oregon. He was a life-long Republican who represented Multnomah County in the Oregon legislature. Carson served two non-consecutive two-year terms in the Oregon House of Representatives followed by two four-year terms in the Oregon State Senate. He was President of the Oregon State Senate during the 1887 legislative session.
Gustavus Charles Moser was an American attorney and state legislator from Portland,Oregon. He served twenty years in the Oregon State Senate from 1913 through 1932. Moser was a conservative Republican who represented Multnomah County in the state senate. He was President of the Oregon State Senate twice. The first time was during the 1917–1918 legislative term and then again during the 1925–1926 term. He also served as acting governor for a week in 1926. Moser was a successful attorney who practiced law from 1894 until his death in 1937. As a young lawyer,he served as Multnomah County's deputy district attorney. In that position,he argued several cases before the Oregon Supreme Court. Later,he was appointed chief legal counsel for the Port of Portland.
William Thomas Vinton,known as W. T. Vinton or Billy Vinton,was an American attorney and politician from McMinnville,Oregon. He represented Yamhill County in the Oregon State Senate from 1915 through 1922,as a conservative Republican. He was president of the state senate from 1919 through 1920. In that capacity,he served as acting governor for two short periods in 1919 while the elected governor was out of the state. Vinton was a successful attorney who practiced law from 1892 until his death in 1945.
Roy Wallace Ritner was an American politician and farmer from Pendleton,Oregon. Beginning in 1915,he served two two-year terms in the Oregon House of Representatives followed by two four-year terms in the Oregon State Senate. Ritner was a conservative Republican who represented Umatilla County in both of Oregon's legislative chambers. He was President of the Oregon State Senate from 1921 through 1922. While he was senate president in 1922,he served as acting governor for 35 days while the elected governor was out of the state. Ritner was also a successful wheat farmer and served as the business manager for the Pendleton Round-Up for many years.
