Gustl Ferdinand Mollath is a German man who was acquitted during a criminal trial in 2006 on the basis of diminished criminal responsibility. He was committed to a high-security psychiatric hospital,as the court deemed him a danger to the public and declared him insane based on expert diagnoses of paranoid personality disorder. The judgment became the basis of controversy when elements of his supposed delusions regarding money-laundering activities at a major bank were found to be true. Mollath had consistently claimed there was a conspiracy to have him locked up in a psychiatric care ward because of his incriminating knowledge;evidence discovered in 2012 made his claims appear plausible.
The NSU trial or National Socialist Underground trial was a trial in Germany against several people in connection with the National Socialist Underground (NSU) –an extreme-right terrorist organization –and the NSU murders. It took place between 6 May 2013 and 11 July 2018 in Munich before the Munich Higher Regional Court. The trial was notable for being one of the largest,longest and most expensive in German history and made public claims of institutionalized racism within the German police force who for years ruled out Neo-Nazis as potential suspects in the killings and instead focused on suspects with Turkish backgrounds," going so far as to name their investigation "Bosporus."

On 18 July 2016,Riaz Khan Ahmadzai,a 17-year-old refugee from Afghanistan,stabbed and injured five people on and outside a train near Würzburg,Germany. He was shot dead by police soon afterwards,after attacking a police tactical unit with an axe. Investigations revealed he was in contact with members of the Islamic State.

At great risk to his own safety,Hartinger issued an indictment of the camp authorities,which was ultimately betrayed and suppressed.

They are said to have armed themselves in a few months,conducted target practice and planned simultaneous assassinations of Muslims in mosques,prominent politicians and people close to anti-fascist movements.

On 7 December 2022,25 members of a suspected far-right terrorist group were arrested for allegedly planning a coup d'état in Germany. The group,called Patriotic Union,which was led by a Council,was a part of the German far-right extremist Reichsbürger movement. The group aimed to re-establish a monarchist government in Germany in the tradition of the German Reich,with the government being similar to the German Empire. The group allegedly wanted to provoke chaos and a civil war in Germany so that it could take power.
