Phantom is the second studio album by French metalcore band Betraying the Martyrs. The album was released on 15 July 2014 through Sumerian Records. [1] It is the band's only album to feature drummer Mark Mironov.
The first song to be released from the album was "Where the World Ends", released on 28 May 2014. [2] The song was first performed live on 25 May in Lyon, France. [3] On 17 June, a lyric video for the second single, "Jigsaw", was released. [4]
"Let It Go" is a cover of the song from the 2013 film, Frozen . [5] The cover was critically acclaimed, with AllMusic contributor Gregory Heaney stating that the cover conveys the same emotion as the original (sung by Idina Menzel) while radically altering the delivery, adding that it "feels like a testament to both the versatility of metal and the universality of show tunes." [6] Heavy metal website MetalSucks labelled the cover as "truly exceptional" in an otherwise negative review of the album. [7] However, Under the Gun named the cover as their "least metal moment of the week" on 14 July. [8] The cover became one of the band's most popular songs and has accumulated 8.5 million views on YouTube, as of April 2022.
The song "Legends Never Die" is a tribute dedicated to late Suicide Silence vocalist Mitch Lucker, who agreed to appear on one of the album's tracks on 31 October but died a day later in an accident. [9]

He Is Legend is an American rock band from Wilmington, North Carolina, known for their optimistic songs. The band was founded in 2003 by high school friends. The band's current lineup is frontman Schuylar Croom, guitarist Adam Tanbouz, bassist Matty Williams, and drummer Jesse Shelley. They left behind their metalcore influences with the 2014 album Heavy Fruit, which introduced elements of sludge metal and stoner rock on a foundation of hard rock.
August Burns Red is an American metalcore band from Lancaster, Pennsylvania, formed in 2003. The band's lineup of guitarists John Benjamin "JB" Brubaker and Brent Rambler, drummer Matt Greiner, lead vocalist Jake Luhrs and bassist Dustin Davidson has remained consistent since 2006. The band was nominated for a Grammy Award in 2016 for Best Metal Performance for the song "Identity" from its 2015 release Found in Far Away Places, and again in 2018 for "Invisible Enemy" from Phantom Anthem (2017). The band has released ten studio albums to date; their latest, Death Below, was released on March 24, 2023.
Eyes Set to Kill is an American post-hardcore and metalcore band from Tempe, Arizona. The Rodriguez sisters, lead guitarist Alexia and bassist Anissa, along with vocalist Lindsey Vogt started the band in 2003. After Lindsey's departure, Alexia assumed her position as lead vocalist as well as guitarist. Anissa left in late 2016 but returned to the band in 2023.

At the time of their breakup in 2023, they were signed to Out of Line Music. Through their previous label, Sumerian Records, Betraying the Martyrs released four studio albums: Breathe in Life (2011), Phantom (2014), The Resilient (2017), and Rapture (2019). They also released two EPs: The Hurt the Divine the Light (2009) and Silver Lining (2022).
The Contortionist is an American progressive metal band from Indianapolis, Indiana. Formed in 2007, the band consists of guitarists Robby Baca and Cameron Maynard, drummer Joey Baca, vocalist Mike Lessard, bassist Jordan Eberhardt, and keyboardist Eric Guenther. They have released four studio albums and three EPs. The band signed with eOne Music and Good Fight Entertainment in early 2010.
Awakened is the sixth studio album by American metalcore band As I Lay Dying. It is the final album released by the band before their hiatus in 2014. The album was released on September 25, 2012, through Metal Blade Records. The album was produced by Bill Stevenson and recorded at The Blasting Room in Fort Collins, Colorado and Lambesis Studios in San Diego, California. On June 22, 2012, the album title, release date, and first single were announced. On June 25, the first single "Cauterize" was released for free download and became available online for purchase the following day. On June 27, a lyric video for "Cauterize" was released along with album artwork, also the band created an event on Facebook inviting fans to participate in a music video shoot for "A Greater Foundation". Fans were able to pre-order a copy on the Rockstar Mayhem Festival tour of 2012.
Rescue & Restore is the sixth studio album by American metalcore band August Burns Red. It was released on June 25, 2013, through Solid State Records and was produced by Carson Slovak and Grant McFarland. The album peaked at No. 9 on the Billboard 200 and No. 2 on the Billboard Top Christian Album chart, losing the No. 1 spot to Skillet's album Rise, which was released on the same day. It is the band's last album to be released through Solid State before they moved to Fearless Records.
Crown of Phantoms is the seventh and final studio album by American metal band Chimaira. It was released on July 30, 2013, via record label E1 Music.
