Phemonopsis cylindricus is a species of beetle in the family Cerambycidae. It was described by Stephan von Breuning in 1948. [1]
The Bostrichidae are a family of beetles with more than 700 described species. They are commonly called auger beetles, false powderpost beetles, or horned powderpost beetles. The head of most auger beetles cannot be seen from above, as it is downwardly directed and hidden by the thorax. Exceptions are the powderpost beetles, and members of the subfamily Psoinae.
The brown-cheeked hornbill is a species of hornbill in the family Bucerotidae. It is found in Ivory Coast, Ghana, Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Togo. Its natural habitats are tropical and subtropical moist broadleaf forests, plantations, and secondary growth forests. It is threatened by habitat destruction, as timber is harvested and the forests become increasingly fragmented.
Alastor is a Palearctic, Indomalayan and Afrotropical genus of potter wasps.
Tylenchorhynchus is a genus of nematodes including many species of plant parasites. The classification of stunt nematodes - those including the genus Tylenchorhynchus - is unstable; many newly discovered species within this genus are reconsidered to be actually subspecies. Stunt nematodes such as Tylenchorhynchus and the closely related genera, Anguillulina and Merlinia, include more than 250 known species. Members of these genera possess similar anatomy and may be easily mistaken for one another. Some debate has led to the classification of single species under different names in two distinct genera.
The Kallakurichi Formation, alternatively spelled as Kallankurichchi or Kallankurichi Formation, is a geological formation of the Ariyalur Group in Tamil Nadu, southern India whose strata date back to the Maastrichtian stage of the Late Cretaceous. Dinosaur eggs of Megaloolithus cylindricus are among the fossils that have been recovered from the sandy limestones of the formation.
Calamopleurus is an extinct genus of bowfins, comprising three species: C. cylindricus and C. mawsoni from Brazil and C. africanus from Africa.
Neolamprologus cylindricus is a species of cichlid endemic to Lake Tanganyika where it is only known to occur in the southeastern part of the lake. It prefers to live in recesses in the substrate and eats small benthic invertebrates. It lays its eggs in caves. It keeps close to the rocky bottom of the lake, mainly in depths less than 10 metres. This species can reach a length of 10.4 centimetres (4.1 in) TL. This species can also be found in the aquarium trade.
The redeye labeo is a species of fish in the cyprinid genus Labeo. It is a freshwater fish endemic to the rivers of East Africa, from the Zambezi through the Limpopo and Komati Rivers to the Pongola River. It also inhabits upper and middle parts of the Congo River.
Exomilus cylindricus is a species of sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusk in the family Raphitomidae.
Brephulopsis cylindrica is a species of air-breathing land snail, a terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusk in the family Enidae.
The Round sand-eel is an eel in the family Ophichthidae. It was described by Seth Eugene Meek and Samuel Frederick Hildebrand in 1923. It reaches a maximum length of around 88 cm. It is distributed throughout the Eastern Central Pacific; inhabiting shallow, sandy bottoms.
Phemonopsis is a genus of longhorn beetles of the subfamily Lamiinae, containing the following species:
Mimenicodes cylindricus is a species of beetle in the family Cerambycidae. It was described by Fauvel in 1906. It is known from New Caledonia.
Thermonotus cylindricus is a species of beetle in the family Cerambycidae. It was described by Per Olof Christopher Aurivillius in 1911. It is known from Malaysia and Borneo.
Phemonopsis grossepunctatus is a species of beetle in the family Cerambycidae. It was described by Stephan von Breuning in 1980.
Prosoplus cylindricus is a species of beetle in the family Cerambycidae. It was described by Stephan von Breuning in 1953.
Sthenias cylindricus is a species of beetle in the family Cerambycidae. It was described by Gressitt in 1939.
Dyenmonus cylindricus is a species of beetle in the family Cerambycidae. It was described by Karl Jordan in 1894.
