Philipa Idogho is a Nigerian academic administrator, who was rector of Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi Edo State. [1] between 2008 and 2016. She was the first female rector of the institution and has been noted to have played a significant role in improving academic capacities and institutionalizing responsibility within the school during her reign. Early life and education

Idogho is an alumni of Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi, Edo State. [6] She has a master's degree in Educational management from University of Benin, and a doctorate in educational administration from Ambrose Alli University. [7]

Career

From 2008 to 2016, Idogho was rector of Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi Edo State. [8] Her system of governance in ensuring a serene school environment have caused her to be criticized among some stakeholders in the school. [9] [10] [11] She was replaced by Dr Momodu Sanusi Jimah in acting capacity, before he was substantively appointed in 2018 by President Muhammadu Buhari. [12]

It was originally known as the Murtala College of Arts, Science and Technology, established in 1977 by the military governor of Benue State, Colonel Abdullahi Shelleng (1976–1978). In 1983, the college's Department of Agriculture of the College was merged with Akperan Orshi College of Agriculture. The school is approved as a state-owned polytechnic by the National Board for Technical Education.

The Federal Polytechnic, Nekede is a federal government-owned higher institution located in Nekede, a town in Imo State, South-Eastern Nigeria. It was established on a temporary site at the premise of Government Technical College by the Imo State government in 1978 as College of Technology, Owerri before it was moved to its present location in Nekede. On 7 April 1993, the polytechnic was changed to a federal government institution and was renamed "The Federal Polytechnic, Nekede". The Federal Polytechnic, Nekede offers National Diploma and Higher National Diploma courses at undergraduate levels.

Nigeria Polytechnic Games Association, often stylized as NIPOGA Games is a biennial sporting competition involving all accredited polytechnics and colleges of technology in Nigeria. In 2017, the Minister for Sports, Solomon Dalung was accorded as patron for the games, which saw 81 polytechnics participating in it. According to the organizers, the games were created to ensure peaceful co-existence among Nigerians and to discover and nurture sporting talents for national assignments. Yaba College of Technology are the most successful institution in the competition, having won the most gold medals on seven occasions, the latest being in 2014.

Edojobs

Edojobs is an initiative of the Edo State government in Nigeria under the administration of Governor Godwin Obaseki. The initiative is aimed at tackling the high rate of unemployment in Edo State through skills acquisition and empowerment programs, in collaboration with various private and public organizations in Edo State. The initiative was launched in 2016 as part of Obaseki's promise to create 200,000 new jobs for the region's youth.

Abubakar Abdul Dzukogi (born 1956) is a Nigerian educator. He serves as the rector of Federal Polytechnic Bida by Muhammadu Buhari. He was the rector from 2015- 2019. He assumed office on May, 2019.
