Nivea B. Hamilton, better known by the mononym Nivea, is an American singer whose recordings reached the Billboard charts during the early 2000s. Nivea is known most for her Grammy-nominated hit "Don't Mess with My Man" as well as "Laundromat" and "Okay" featuring YoungbloodZ & Lil' Jon. She has released three studio albums: Nivea (2001), Complicated (2005), Animalistic (2006), and an independently released extended play Nivea: Undercover (2011).

Nivea is a German personal care brand that specializes in skin and body-care. It is owned by the Hamburg-based company Beiersdorf Global AG. The company was founded on 28 March 1882, by Paul Carl Beiersdorf. In 1890, it was sold to Oscar Troplowitz. Troplowitz working with Beiersdorf's associate, Dr Paul Gerson Unna, and the German chemist Isaac Lifschütz, developed a new skin care cream. In 1900, Lifschütz developed the first stable water-in-oil emulsion, Eucerit. This was the origin of Eucerin. Nivea comes from the Latin adjective niveus, nivea, niveum, meaning "snow-white".

Banksia nivea, commonly known as honeypot dryandra, is a species of rounded shrub that is endemic to Western Australia. The Noongar peoples know the plant as bulgalla. It has linear, pinnatipartite leaves with triangular lobes, heads of cream-coloured and orange or red flowers and glabrous, egg-shaped follicles.
Alex George's taxonomic arrangement of Dryandra was the first modern-day arrangement of that taxon. The song peaked at number eight on the Billboard Hot 100 and was an international hit as well, reaching the top 10 in France and New Zealand and receiving a Gold certification in the former country. In the United Kingdom, the song was released twice: once as a solo single in 2002—reaching number 41 on the UK Singles Chart—and again as a double A-side with "Laundromat" in 2003, reaching number 33 on the same chart. The recording earned the artists a nomination for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals at the 45th Grammy Awards in 2003.

"Laundromat" is a song that was recorded by American singer Nivea and released on her 2002 self-titled debut album. Jive released it as a double A-side single along with "Don't Mess with My Man" on April 26, 2003. R. Kelly wrote and produced the song, and performed some uncredited vocals on the recording, which is a R&B and pop track. "Laundromat" was recorded and mixed in Chicago, and was one of the last songs to be produced for the album. The song is structured as a telephone call in which Nivea breaks up her boyfriend, who is played by Kelly. The lyrics use the laundromat as a metaphor for the washing away of an old relationship.
