Phulmania (2019) is an Indian, Nagpuri & Hindi film directed and produced by Lal Vijay Shahdeo and produced by Lal Vijay Shahdeo, Nitu Agarwal and Amrita Shahdeo. The film feature Komal Singh in female lead role. The story of the film has based on practice of witch hunting. [1] [2] [3] The film was premiered at Jharkhand International Film Festival Awards (JIFFA) 2019 and the 72nd Cannes Film Festival in France. The film is based on true incident happened in Jharia. [9] The story of the film is on issue of witch hunting, gender discrimination and female infertility.

Release

The film released on 6 September 2019 in state capital Ranchi. The censor board issued the release certificate without any cuts. This is the first Nagpuri film released at a Multiplex. [11]

Dhumkkudiya (2019) is an Indian, Nagpuri film directed by Nandlal Nayak and produced by Dr Sumit Agarwal. The film features Rinkal Kacchap and Pradhuman Nayak in prominent roles. The story of the film is based on true incidents of human trafficking. The film won Outstanding Achievement Award in Culcutta International Cult Film Festival (2019). It has won Best Editing and Best Content awards in Japan Film Festival. It has won Best Feature Film in Hollywood Blood Horror Festival, Los Angeles in 2019 and Best Producer, Best Acting Ensemble, Best Costume, Best Makeup & Hairstyling, Best Trailer and Best Poster Awards in 2020. Nagpuri literature refers to literature in the Nagpuri language, the language of Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and Odisha. The earliest literature started in the nagpuri language when the Nagvanshi king and king of Ramgarh Raj started writing poetry in the 17th century. Since then, various literature has been written. Although in the present century, Nagpuri was never considered worthy of literary development. But some dedicated writers have engaged in writing short stories, plays and poetry.

Nagpuri culture refers to the culture of the Nagpuria people, the native speakers of the Nagpuri language, which includes literature, festivals, folk song and dance. It is also referred to as the culture related to the Nagpuri language.

Mahavir Nayak, is a nagpuri singer and songwriter. He is an exponent of Theth Nagpuri music, which is a genre of typical Nagpuri music, based on traditional Nagpuri folk music. He is the recipient of Sangeet Natak Akademi Amrit Award (2022), Lok Kala Ratna Award (2014) and Praful Samman (2019) for his contribution in folk music.
