Vineet Kumar is an Indian actor from the National School of Drama, known for his works in Hindi, Telugu, and English language films and Television. [3] His Hollywood assignments include Return to Rajapur with Lynn Collins; Bhopal: A Prayer for Rain with Martin Sheen and Mischa Barton. He has also appeared in a number of Telugu, Kannada, and Bhojpuri films. He received critical acclaim for his work in the Telugu film Vikramarkudu . [4] [5]

Career

He has appeared in a number of Hindi films. These include Drohkaal , Kachche Dhaage, Aks , Yeh Dil , Soch and Shool . Apart from Bollywood movies, he has also worked on Hollywood assignments such as Return to Rajapur with Lynn Collins; Bhopal: A Prayer for Rain with Martin Sheen and Mischa Barton. He has also appeared in a number of Telugu, Tamil and Bhojpuri movies. He received critical acclaim for his work in the Telugu movie Vikramarkudu .

He received positive reviews for his work in Masaan and has been termed 'Brilliant' for his role as a professional cremator. [7] [8] Masaan was screened in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival winning two awards. [9] [10] [11]

Awards, honours and recognition

Vineet won the Best Actor in Negative Role (Jury) award for Jaana Na Dil Se Door at the 16th Indian Television Academy Awards (ITA) in 2016. [12]

Vikramarkudu is a 2006 Indian Telugu-language action film directed by S. S. Rajamouli who co-wrote the film with V. Vijayendra Prasad. The film stars Ravi Teja and Anushka Shetty. It follows a thief who discovers a girl insisting he is her father, while a series of events connect his life to her actual father, who is his look-alike. The film's music was composed by M. M. Keeravani with cinematography and editing by Sarvesh Murari and Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao respectively.

Bhopal: A Prayer for Rain is a 2014 Indian English-language historical drama film directed by Ravi Kumar. Based on the Bhopal disaster that happened in India on 2–3 December 1984, the film stars Martin Sheen, Mischa Barton, Kal Penn, Rajpal Yadav, Tannishtha Chatterjee and Fagun Thakrar. Benjamin Wallfisch composed the film's music. Kumar's idea for making a film based on the Bhopal disaster came after he read a book about it. Shot over a period of 18 months, it was originally scheduled for a late 2010 release. However, the lack of responses from distributors kept delaying the release.
