Synopsis

Precious Hearts Romances Presents: Pintada is a love story between high school student Sev (Martin del Rosario) and his chemistry teacher, Lysa (Denise Laurel).

Lysa, a young woman admired for her beauty, experiences a life-changing event when a fire breaks out at the school where she works. In her attempt to rescue students, she sustains burns to part of her face, resulting in the loss of her physical beauty and causing enduring emotional scars.

Lysa faces adversity in Cervantes after being blamed for a fire that took lives, including that of Mr. Sandejas, with whom she was rumored to have had an affair. Hated by the townsfolk and shamed by her disfigured face, Lysa serves six years in prison. Despite planning to live alone, Noel persuaded her to return to Cervantes to restore her reputation and seek revenge on those who caused her suffering.

Precious Hearts Romances Presents: Pintada belongs to the top 5 most watched programs in the Daytime and holds the number one place on its timeslot against its rival from other networks, according to Kantar Media-TNS.

Last August 17, 2012, based on the official survey results released by Kantar Media-TNS, Pintada got a rating of 12.3%; 13.7% on August 20; and on August 21, it soared higher garnering a rating of 16.0%. On the following days, however, ratings got by Pintada were not consistent and ranged from 12 to 16%.

Recently, Pintada recorded a rating of 16.4% on October 3, 2012, and 14.8% on October 4, 2012.

"Pintada" garnered positive reviews not only from household survey ratings but also from critics. A blogger specifically commended the show, offering a strong recommendation to anyone who cares and praising its believable school-based storyline.

Martin Miguel Mangay del Rosario is a Filipino actor and model who is known for his portrayal of Norberto Matias in the 2011 drama series Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin, as Severino Monzon in the TV adaptation of Pintada in 2012, as Nico in the 2016 film Ang Manananggal sa Unit 23B, and as Prince Zardoz in Voltes V: Legacy.
