Pir Sara (Persian : پيرسرا‎, also Romanized as Pīr Sarā; also known as Pīrehsarā)^[1] is a village in Howmeh Rural District, in the Central District of Masal County, Gilan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 193, in 53 families.^[2]

Persian, also known by its endonym Farsi, is one of the Western Iranian languages within the Indo-Iranian branch of the Indo-European language family. It is a pluricentric language primarily spoken in Iran, Afghanistan and Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and some other regions which historically were Persianate societies and considered part of Greater Iran. It is written right to left in the Persian alphabet, a modified variant of the Arabic script.

Howmeh Rural District is a rural district (dehestan) in the Central District of Masal County, Gilan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 9,652, in 2,532 families. The rural district has 16 villages.

The Central District of Masal County is a district (bakhsh) in Masal County, Gilan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 26,063, in 6,886 families. The District has one city: Masal. The District has two rural districts (dehestan): Howmeh Rural District and Masal Rural District.
