Piyush Anand (born 18 June 1968 [1] ) is a 1991- batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer from Uttar Pradesh cadre currently serving as the Director General of the National Disaster Response Force of India since 1 April 2024. [2] [3] [4] [5] [6]

Early life

Anand was born to Anand Kr. Agarwal in 1968 and he hails from Delhi, India. [1]

Education

Anand has completed M. Tech in (Mechanical engineering) from IIT Delhi and also Post Graduate Diploma in Public Policy and Management from MDI Gurgaon. [2]

Career

Anand holds many special or high rank post in central government's agencies and they has been awarded for his work. [7] [8]

He has served in CBI for more than 7 years, in CRPF for more than 3 years. He has also served in Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) as ADG/SDG for more than a year and anand joining the National Disaster Response Force as Director General on 1 April 2024. [2] [9]
